Ohio State Defensive Back Rodjay Burns Transferring To Louisville

Rodjay Burns becomes the second Ohio State defensive back this week to announce his transfer.

Ohio State defensive back Rodjay Burns announced Friday via his Instagram account that he is leaving Columbus to play at the University of Louisville.

In his post, Burns said the reason for his transfer is due to his fathers health. Burns played his high school football at Trinity, less than a 20 minute drive from Louisville's campus.

Burns, a member of the 2016 recruiting class, earned playing time as a true freshman for the Buckeyes and returned an interception 75 yards for a touchdown in the season opener against Bowling Green. He played in seven games for Ohio State in his freshman season, adding one tackle and a pass deflection to his interception.

Burns was originally committed to Louisville during his recruitment before flipping to Ohio State shortly before signing day in 2016. His transfer marks the second defensive back to transfer out of Columbus this week after the news of Joshua Norwood's transfer came out May 9.
