Ohio State's 2018 recruiting class is in double digits.
Toledo St. John's Jesuit four-star outside linebacker Dallas Gant announced his commitment to Ohio State on Tuesday afternoon, become the 10th Buckeye pledge for the 2018 cycle. Gant, who is rated as the fifth-best player in the state, becomes the second Ohio recruit to commit to Urban Meyer's program after four-star athlete Jaelen Gill gave a verbal pledge March 1.
Gant chose the Buckeyes over Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Penn State after he gave heavy consideration to out-of-state options.
With Gant in the fold, Ohio State holds commitments from 10 four-star prospects, all of whom are ranked among the top 150 players in the nation. Gant checks in at No. 127 overall and No. 10 at his position. He's the first linebacker commit for the Buckeyes' 2018 class, joining a defensive tackle (Taron Vincent), a defensive end (Brenton Cox), one offensive lineman (Max Wray), two running backs (Gill and Brian Snead), a cornerback (Sevyn Banks), a quarterback (Emory Jones) and two safeties (Jaiden Woodbey and Josh Proctor).
