Former Ohio State Safety Malik Hooker Signs With Indianapolis Colts

Former Ohio State safety Malik Hooker was one of three Buckeye defensive backs selected in the first round.

Malik Hooker is an Indianapolis Colt, officially.

Hooker, who starred as a safety at Ohio State, signed his rookie contract with the Colts on Thursday after being selected with the 15th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft, the team announced. The Colts' press release didn't provide details on Hooker's contract, but his deal was projected to be worth a total of over $12.5 million by Sportrac with a signing bonus around $7.3 million.

Hooker was the second former Buckeye to be selected in the draft after cornerback Marshon Lattimore went at No. 11 overall to the New Orleans Saints. Cornerback Gareon Conley was selected by the Oakland Raiders with the 24th overall pick.
