Scout updated its Top 100 for the 2018 basketball recruiting class on Thursday and five players from the Buckeye State made the cut. Of those four, just one is committed to Ohio State.
The Buckeyes are without a head coach after Thad Matta was let go on Monday, though the search is reportedly close to a resolution. So far, Ohio State's lone remaining commit for 2018 – Upper Arlington shooter guard Dane Goodwin, the 90th-ranked player in the nation – is still in the fold.
The other four Ohio prospects in the Scout 100 are Cincinnati Princeton four-star forward Darius Bazley (No. 42), Pickerington North four-star forward Jerome Hunter (No. 61), Parma Heights Holy Name four-star guard Dwayne Cohill (No. 74) and Richfield Revere four-star forward Pete Nance (No. 77).
Bazley was committed to Ohio State before backing off that pledge earlier this year. Hunter is back on Ohio State's recruiting radar, partially due to Bazley's decommitment, as is Pete Nance. Ohio State has long been pursuing Cohill as well.
