AP: Clarett sues NFL

Maurice Clarett has sued the NFL for early entry into the 2004 NFL draft, the Associated Press reports.

The wait to find out what Maurice Clarett's future might hold may be over as the Associated Press reports that the running back filed a lawsuit against the NFL today in a Manhattan federal court, asking U.S. District Judge Shira A. Scheindlin to throw out the NFL rule preventing players from entering the draft before being out of high school for three years.

The suit, filed by attorney Alan Milstein asks for the rule to be thrown out or for a special supplemental draft to be held for Clarett.
