SirDarean Adams of Bradenton (FL) Bayshore has emerged as one of Florida's most exciting football players. Adams lists his height and weight at 6-2, 228 and reports a 4.38 40 time. Adams camped at Florida this year, and among his several offers are Ohio State, Florida State, and Tennessee.
"I've got over 25 offers," he said.
Right now, the Buckeyes are recruiting him as an athlete.
"Ohio State has offered me as an athlete," he said. "I'm playing quarterback now, but I started the year at tailback. I played quarterback last year (he threw for 1500 yards and rushed for 1000 in ten games).
"I don't play any defense."
There's been talk about what position he will play, but it doesn't seem to matter to SirDarean.
"I don't care which position I play in college; whatever will get me on the field quicker," he said.
Bayshore is currently 3-1 and a top ten team in Class 4-A. SirDarean said their only loss came with eight fumbles in the red zone, much of which was a result of it being the first game where he was in at quarterback and trouble came with the center/QB exchange. Last Friday, he had five rushes for 189 yards and two TDs in the first quarter in a game that Bayshore won 61-3.
Adams also plays basketball and runs track, and he hasn't really thought about when he will set up his visits. "Probably after the season," he said.
What does he like about Ohio State?
"I've just always liked Ohio State," he said. "I like the tradition."
Adams is very certain what in what he wants to look for in a school.
"Education," he said. "I want to major in business. Tradition, the coaches, family... That's the way it is in high school and that's the way I want it in college." The final factor he listed was when he can get on the field the fastest.
