Johnson (5-11, 235) turned heads this summer when he ran a 4.5-second 40 time at the OSU camp. He then attended several games at OSU this fall before running backs coach Tim Spencer called today to offer.
Johnson said he conferred with family members, including his father, before calling back and committing.
He becomes OSU's 13th verbal commitment in a class that figures to number as many as 25.
Fullback is a glaring weak spot for the Buckeyes, who suffered early this season when Branden Joe and Brandon Schnittker, the team's only scholarship fullbacks, were lost due to injuries.
