Week 7 Highlights
Austintown-Fitch RB Miles Williams, an OSU verbal, rushed 19 times for 114 yards in a 26-12 loss to North Canton Hoover.
Columbus Beechcroft's Sirjo Welch, an OSU verbal, had a 6-yard TD run in his team's 41-0 win over Columbus Centennial.
Cleveland Benedictine RB Ray Williams carried 32 times for 228 yards and two TDs in a 34-0 win over Cuyahoga Falls Walsh Jesuit. The Bengals are the state‘s top-ranked team in Division III.
Akron Buchtel QB Steven Walker threw three touchdown passes in a 41-0 win over Akron Kenmore. RB Antonio Pittman, an OSU verbal, had a pair of two-point conversion runs for Buchtel.
Massillon Perry rolled up 399 yards, including 351 on the ground, in a 47-27 win over Canton McKinley. Perry TB Ryan Jedel had 11 carries for 125 yards and a score, while FB Tony Pierce carried 21 times for 94 yards and four TDs.
Dayton Chaminade-Julienne had four touchdowns of 30 yards or longer in a 42-21 win over Cincinnati Purcell Marian. QB Anthony Turner hooked up with Ryan Patrick for a 70-yard scoring strike and 32-yards to JoJo Smith. Junior RB Javon Ringer broke off an 83-yard TD run and Brandon Harrison had a 97-yard kickoff return for a score.
In a match-up of unbeatens, Pickerington Central drove 98 yards in 10 plays to the winning touchdown -- a 1-yard sneak by QB Aaron Johann with 35.3 seconds left -- to defeat Dublin Coffman 36-32. Johann was 15 of 23 passing for 252 yards and three TDs for Central. Coffman QB Jack Rafferty completed 20 of 33 passes for 301 yards and three TDs.
Cincinnati Elder edged Cincinnati Moeller 21-20. Elder RB Bradley Glatthaar, who had 117 yards on 20 carries, ran 37 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown and teammate Alex Harbin blocked a Tyler Wehmann extra-point attempt with 1:22 left before a sellout crowd of 10,000 at Elder.
Shaker Heights defeated Lorain Admiral King 56-28 as QB Arden McWilliams tossed four TD passes, including strikes of 76 and 38 yards to Mark Woodson.
Cleveland Glenville QB Ted Ginn Jr. rushed for 108 yards and one TD on 13 carries and also completed 6 of 9 passes for 118 yards and two scores in a 48-14 rout of Cleveland Lincoln-West.
West Chester Lakota West, which features OSU verbal OL Steve Rehring, got its first win of the season, defeating Hamilton, which features OSU verbal DB Brandon Underwood, 47-28. Dane Romero rushed for a career-high 248 yards on 33 carries and four TDs for Lakota West.
Warren Harding QB Alex Engram was 11 of 18 passing for 176 yards and three TDs in a 43-14 win over Youngstown Boardman. Junior WR Mario Manningham caught TD passes of 61 and 62 yards for Harding, the state‘s No. 2-ranked team in Division I.
Middletown RB Jimmy Calhoun scored on a 1-yard run to force the game into overtime and also scored the game-winning touchdown on a 4-yard run in a 41-35 win over Sycamore.
Hubbard RB Shaun Lane, an OSU verbal, rushed for 78 yards in a 28-0 win over Leavittsburg Labrae.
Columbus Independence RB Erik Haw, an OSU verbal, carried 28 times for 404 yards and four TDs (8, 50, 73, 88 yards) in a 70-0 rout of Columbus Briggs. Haw now has 216 carries for 1,692 yards and 16 TDs this season.
Sparta Highland RB Joe Ulrey had 360 yards and two TDs on 45 carries in a 21-12 win over Galion Northmor.
Lancaster RB Jon Carpenter had 216 yards and four TDs on 23 carries in a 35-16 win over Grove City Central Crossing.
Upper Arlington edged Chillicothe 37-35 in a wild passing affair. UA QB Mike Maciejowski completed 14 of 20 passes for 263 yards and four TDs, while Chillicothe QB Clint Austin was 14 of 23 passing for 317 yards and three TDs. WR Quenton Upshaw had six catches for 220 yards and two TDs for Chillicothe. UA‘s Victor Strausbaugh had four grabs for 129 yards and three scores.
Mentor Lake Catholic QB Mark Petruziello completed 14 of 20 passes for 217 yards and two TDs in a 28-20 win over Bedford Chanel. For the year, Petruziello has completed 89 of 146 passes for 1,396 yards and 16 TDs. He has also rushed for 652 yards and six scores.
Macedonia Nordonia, the state's top-ranked team in Division II, defeated Mayfield 28-0 behind RB Tom Stockle, who carried 32 times for 213 yards and four TDs.
Lakewood St. Edward, featuring OSU verbal junior OL Alex Boone, turned back Massillon Washington 27-6 before 8,306 at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium.
Cleveland St. Ignatius, the state's top-ranked team in Division I, defeated Cleveland John F. Kennedy 44-8.
Youngstown Ursuline WR Derrick Stewart caught three passes for 115 yards and two TDs in a 25-21 win over Akron Hoban. Ursuline QB Daryll Clark, who threw for 136 yards, hit Stewart on a 50-yard touchdown pass with 4:26 left for the go-ahead score. Clark also scored on a 64-yard TD run. Hoban RB Tyrell Sutton had 26 carries for 165 yards and two TDs and caught four passes for 107 yards and a score. This was Hoban‘s first home loss since 2001.
Akron Garfield junior RB Marcus Council had 99 yards and two TDs in a 62-7 win over Akron Firestone.
Columbus Walnut Ridge RB Gary Russell carried 27 times for 416 yards and five TDs (55, 80, 71, 4 and 44 yards) in a 38-12 win over Columbus West.
Huber Heights Wayne's Marcus Freeman, an OSU verbal, had a TD run and teammate Drew Eby kicked three field goals in a 16-14 win over Piqua.

Mount Carmel, Pa., with OL Jon Skinner, defeated Marian 26-13. Mount Carmel travels to North Schuykill Friday.
Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln QB Joe Bauserman completed 3 of 5 passes for 75 yards with two TDs and one INT in a 49-0 win over Leon. Bauserman also rushed for a 58-yard TD.
