Ross Selected Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio: Ohio State tailback Lydell Ross has been selected as the Big Ten's Offensive Player of the Week following Saturday's 35-6 win over Indiana.

Lydell Ross rushed for a career-high 167 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries against the Hoosiers. The 6-0, 210-pound junior from Tampa, rolled up 103 of those yards in the first quarter.

Ross scored on runs of 11, 2 and 1 yards in helping the Buckeyes jump out to a 35-0 lead. The Buckeyes totaled 221 yards rushing and 603 yards in total offense against the Hoosiers, both of which represent season highs.

In addition to recording the third 100-yard game of his career, Ross also caught three passes for 33 yards. Ross is the fifth Ohio State player to win Big Ten player of the week honors this year.
