Recruiting Update - Fred Lenix

Who's the next star from Cleveland Glenville? Well, there will be a few of them next year, but one will be LB/RB Fred Lenix. Gary Housteau caught up with the junior for a quick update.

"My top three are Ohio State, Florida and Iowa," said Fred Lenix of Cleveland Glenville High School, a frequent visitor to Ohio Stadium this year. "I also like Miami."

The 5-11, 200 Lenix had a more-than-solid junior season at middle linebacker for the Tarblooders. As the inspirational leader of the defense, he roamed from sideline to sideline using his speed effectively to penetrate enemy backfields.

"I'm going to play linebacker and running back next season," Lenix said. "I'd like to play linebacker at the next level but I may have to make a move to safety; we'll wait and see."

Lenix, also a track star at Glenville, will be a top gridiron recruit in Ohio next season along with Tarblooder teammates Jamario O'Neal and Curtis Smith.
