Recruiting Updates - Bobby Reid, Leon Hart

Texas QB prospect Bobby Reid committed to Oklahoma State quite some time ago, but it sounds like the Buckeyes will still get a look. Meanwhile, five-star OL Leon Hart has decided on four of his visits, and OSU will definitely be one.

Ohio State might not be out of the picture just yet for standout Texas QB prospect Bobby Reid. Reid is an Oklahoma State commitment, but he is planning on checking out Ohio State next month.

"Yes, I will be visiting Ohio State," he said. "The weekend of the 19th, 20th and 21st of December."

The Buckeyes will be getting his last visit.

"No, I will not be taking any other visits," he said.

One reason Ohio State will be his last visit is because he is going to be enrolling early in college.

"I am not trying to enroll in January," he said. "I am not thinking of enrolling in January. I am definitely going to do it."

Reid, who said he has family in Columbus, likes OSU's style of football.

"Ohio State is recruiting me as a QB," he said. "I like the type of ball they play. Aggressive and disciplined."

Reid's team is currently 11-0 and will be in the second round of the playoffs this weekend.

Offensive line is a need for OSU in this recruiting class, and perhaps the top target on that list is South Carolina five-star prospect Leon Hart. OSU assistant coach Luke Fickell has helped Hart become interested in the Buckeyes by calling and sending mail, and Hart plans on taking an official visit to OSU.

"I definitely plan on visiting but I have not set a date yet," he said. "I've decided on four visits. South Carolina, Ohio State, Auburn, and Virginia. The fifth visit will be either Georgia or Maryland."

What does he like about OSU?

"The tradition," he said. "The chance to play early is very important."

Hart's team is currently 6-6, and they will play in the second round of the playoffs on Friday. He played on offense primarily this year.

"I only played defense sparingly," he said.

Hart also throws the discus and shot in the spring, and he has been lifting weights every day.

"The last period of the day I have advanced P.E., where I lift weights," he said.

It may be difficult to get Hart out of the south, but he definitely seems to be keeping the possibility coming north in mind.

"Both of my parents want me to stay close to home, but they want me to go where I want to go," he said.
