Every year, the Buckeyes seem to be in on a Florida player who is a late riser or that not many people have heard of. Chris Zellner of Sarasota Booker has emerged late in the process, and the Buckeyes are one of the teams on his list.
The versatile Zellner stands in at 6-2 1/2, 220, runs a 4.5 and can play on either side of the ball. He is having an excellent year at defensive end.
"I had 18 sacks this year, but the season's not over yet," Zellner said. "We're 13-0.
"I also play tight end. I prefer defensive end, but I really just want to play."
Right now, in addition to closing out the season, he's working on trying to get his weight up.
"I was heavier at the beginning of the year," he said.
He has been offered by Ohio State and has a January 9th visit set up. What turned him on to the Buckeyes?
"The name," he said. "It's a great program. It's exciting to be recruited by Ohio State."
Chris said Ohio State would be the last visit if he doesn't take the Indiana visit.
