Patterson impressed with OSU

Nick Patterson of Hazelwood Central HS in Florissant, MO was one of many prospects in attendance at Ohio State this weekend. Nick seemed to be impressed with just about every facet of the visit.

One of the players who had a particularly good visit to Ohio State this past weekend was Missouri defensive back Nick Pattersron.

"It was a nice visit," Nick said. "A really nice visit. My parents really enjoyed themselves too."

Nick was impressed with a lot of things about Ohio State, one of which was head coach Jim Tressel.

"Coach Tressel was different," Nick said. "I was so impressed with how personable he was. He sat down and explained everything to me. He talked to me about other things. Most of the conversation had nothing to do with football."

Coach Tressel wasn't the only person who Nick enjoyed interacting with.

"I was impressed with everyone I met in Columbus from the trainers to the equipment managers," Nick said. "I know I was on a recruiting visit but everyone seemed so genuine. I felt comfortable with everyone"

The players also made Nick feel comfortable.

"Ashton Youboty was my host," he said. "All the players were real cool. They tried to get me to commit but they made it fun. I know they really wanted me to but there was no pressure."

Nick isn't ready to make a decision yet though. His next official visit is scheduled to be to Missouri this weekend.

"I want to see my home state school," he said. "I want something to compare Ohio State to. I want to look at things and compare."

Nick was also very impressed to be part of such a big recruiting weekend.

"There were some big time players there," he said. "Marcus Freeman, Ted Ginn, Fred Davis. Very impressive."

One player in particular Nick made friends with was OSU commitment Brandon Underwood.

"I hung out a lot with Brandon Underwood," he said. "I got to know he and his dad when I came up for camp. I was coming in for the second day as they were leaving after the first day. He is real cool. We did about everything together. I could see myself rooming with him if I went to Ohio State."
