Hall Sees Va. Tech; OSU Next

Virginia standout Olu Hall made his first official visit to Virginia Tech, but did not commit. Ohio State will be his next official visit Jan. 9.

Fairfax (Va.) Robinson defensive end Olu Hall just returned from his first official visit, and he loved the time in Blacksburg.

"I just got back from Virginia Tech. I loved it, I loved it," says the 6-foot-4, 220 pounder. "We hung out with the players, chilled out until late in the night. I just loved the freedom."

Hall, who was hosted by Mike Imoh, was well aware of the rumor that Mike Mangold committed to Virginia Tech and the feeling was infectious.

"He did, he did. I thought about it, but I just had to hold out. It was tough, but there are more schools I still have to visit."

Those final four visits are Ohio State (1/9), Purdue (1/16), NC State (1/23), and Virginia (1/30). Hall knows that he will probably get that feeling again on the other visits.

"I really don't know, because I know on each one I will want to think I want to commit. I will just have to hold out."

As for Mangold's rumored commitment, does that have a negative effect on Hall as the two play the same position?

"Not really, because we're both good athletes. Actually it would boost them up some. The competition is there, and I love competition. It'll be a battle for a position because there are other guys on the team at the position already that are really good."
