Nicol makes it official

It's official -- Rory Nicol is a Buckeye.

At a press conference a short time ago, Beaver, PA Area TE Rory Nicol, a four-star TE and one of the top 100 overall players in America, officially announced his decision to attend college at Ohio State.

Nicol (6-5, 240) is an outstanding athlete for his size as he also plays basketball and runs the high hurdles in track (15.8 time in the 110m high hurdles). He is a complete tight end prospect who is an excellent blocker in addition to a pass-catching threat.

Nicol and Mount Carmel OL Jon Skinner are the first Pennsylvania players to commit to Ohio State since Randy Homa signed with the Buckeyes in 1995. Ohio State is also heavily recruiting three more currently uncommitted players from Pennsylvania -- LB James Bryant of Reading, WR/DB Devon Lyons of Pittsburgh Woodland Hills, and OL Kyle Mitchum of Erie McDowell.
