Bauta, Welch talk visits

OSU commitment Sirjo Welch was on his official visit to Ohio State this weekend, while uncommitted Brooklyn, NY OL Izzy Bauta traveled to Duke. We have comments from both now.

"It was alright", Izzy Bauta said in describing his visit to Duke. "There are some coaching changes going on down there. The New OC is a former Arizona Cardinals coach. There are coaches from Syracuse, Ga Tech and Stanford. A lot of quality coaches coming in."

Bauta was hosted by his brother who is a lineman with the Blue Devils.

"I already knew a lot about Duke before I came down here."

After 3 visits things are starting to shape up for Bauta.

"Ohio State and Duke have stood out so far," he said.

Bauta has Rutgers next week then down to South Florida the week after. He does not intend to wait until signing day.

"I should be ready to make a decision soon after my South Florida visit," he said.

Beechcroft safety SirJoseph Welch is fresh back from his official visit to Ohio State. Welch, already committed to the Buckeyes, said his visit "was cool. It was straight. What I expected."

Welch was hosted by former teammate at Beechcroft Antonio Smith, who is a walk-on at Ohio State. Welch is not coming in early as so many players are trying to do these days.

"No, I am playing basketball. I am really enjoying myself. We are looking pretty good," he said.
