Hart Says OSU Out Of The Running

South Carolina offensive lineman Leon Hart told Bucknuts.com moments ago that he has dropped Ohio State from consideration. Hart, who just returned from a visit to nearby South Carolina, says he will look at the hometown Gamecocks as well as Auburn.

Columbia (S.C.) Spring Valley offensive lineman Leon Hart, one of OSU's key prospects this year, told Bucknuts.com moments ago he is no longer considering the Buckeyes.

Hart (6-5, 285, 5.1) visited nearby South Carolina this weekend and came away saying the battle for his services is now between Auburn and South Carolina.

"Basically, I'm going to sit here and tell you this and tell you the truth, because I want to be honest," Hart said. "I took Ohio State off the list this weekend."

Hart didn't want the word getting back to Auburn or even South Carolina that he was still considering the Buckeyes, because he is not.

"I guess you can go public with it because I spoke to the coaches and told them and I don't want them reading anything like where it says Ohio State is still in the picture or something like that," Hart said. "It's just better for my situation being down South."

South Carolina may now be back in the picture after his visit there. He said they really opened his eyes and he may have to consider pushing Wednesday's announcement back at this point. He's just not sure yet.

Hart is ranked as South Carolina's top prospect as well as the nation's No. 2 offensive lineman and as the country's No. 27 overall prospect by TheInsidersRecruiting.com.
