Zellner (6-3, 220, 4.5) had visited Clemson, Ohio State and Maryland previously.
"He is going to sleep on it tonight and then he is going to use the next couple of days to go through the process of listing the pros and cons of each school," said Greg Zellner, Chris' father.
"He hopes to have a decision made by Friday. It is between Ohio State, Clemson and Miami, but they are in no particular order. All of them are good schools and he certainly can't lose any way he goes. It is a tough decision for him to make."
The Zellner family crossed the lower portion of Florida to make the trip to Miami.
"We had never been to Miami," Greg Zellner said. "Living in Florida, I guess that's hard to say. We had some preconceived notions about the place. But I think it was a good visit for Chris. They kind of came on the list late and now they're in the mix."
OSU coach Jim Tressel made an in-home visit with Zellner last week.
"(Miami's) Coach Coker might make a visit this week," Greg Zellner said. "Coach Tressel was here last week and (Clemson coach Tommy) Bowden was in last week also.
"Florida State was also recruiting Chris, but they said he was too small."
Zellner had 17 sacks as a senior for a 13-1 team that reached the Class 3A state semifinals before falling to Miami Pace. He also excelled as a tight end.
Zellner holds a 3.1 GPA and has a qualifying test score.
