Scouting Report - Nader Abdallah

Louisiana DT Nader Abdallah is on the verge of a decision. Tomorrow we should find out who gets the signature of this player Duane Long says is quite underrated.

Metarie (LA) Rummel DT Nader Abdallah is scheduled to announce his decision tomorrow. Abdallah is one of the top DTs in America and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. He will decide between Ohio State, Tennessee, and Florida State.

Duane Long had a chance to check out footage of Abdallah, and he thinks that rankings-wise, Nader is severely underrated.

After seeing tape of Archbishop (LA) Rummel defensive tackle prospect Naber Abdallah, I have only one question. How could such a dominating force be rated #43 nationally?

Abdallah pushes opposing offensive linemen around, does a great job of shedding blockers and runs like a much smaller man once he is off the block. He has an ideal defensive tackle body and is carrying no excess weight, but is so mobile and such an athlete that he could play defensive end.

What really makes Abdallah special is the motor. So many big kids don't play to the whistle on every play, but Abdallah does.

Ohio State is one of the schools very high on his list. There is talk about Ohio State recruiting him with an eye on him playing on the offensive line, but nothing could be further from the truth. He is being recruited by the Buckeyes only as a defensive lineman. Whether he ends up as a tackle or an end Ohio State has not decided yet, but the Buckeyes would love to finish off this fine class with this much underrated defensive lineman.
