Westlake LB One To Watch

A name you haven't heard much about yet is Westlake (OH) LB B.J. Travers, but he's a prospect to keep an eye on this year.

Linebacker B.J. Travers (6-1, 238) of Westlake, OH is a name to watch this year. He's a solid LB prospect who plays faster than his reported 4.74 40 time. When it comes to recruiting though, he hasn't really thought much about it as he's not thinking about camps and doesn't have a leader.

"No one in particular," he said.

One school that B.J. does have some background with is Penn State. There's a lot of Penn State tradition in his family as both his grandfather and aunt graduated from PSU, and B.J. has been on campus a lot.

"I like Penn State and the tradition," he said. "We've been going there for a long time. That really will not play into it."

It appears like B.J. would prefer playing at MLB on the next level.

"I love playing the middle," he said. "I never played outside.

"I played middle for the first time as a sophomore. I've been a defensive tackle before that."

B.J. posted an impressive 157 in the discus this year, and he plans on shooting for 170 next year.

"I was practicing this fall and hitting 160s," he said.
