Ohio is not quite as strong in the QB department this year as it has been the past three years, but Clayton Northmont's Tyler Horner is definitely a Division I-A prospect and quite possibly ranks at the top of the pack this year.
He's already getting solid attention.
"I'm getting hand-written letters from Maryland and Notre Dame," he said. "But I don't have any offers yet."
Tyler plans on being busy this year on the camp circuit.
"I'm going to Nike in Columbus and the (regional) Elite 11 in Georgia," he said.
He also plans on camping at the Purdue passing camp as well as Miami (OH).
"I'm not sure about any others just yet," he said.
Tyler is in no hurry to decide but he does have some schools he likes.
"I want to wait," he said. "I'm not going to rush. It depends on who offers. I would like to go to a bigger school.
"I'm not sure about a pecking order. I've always liked Tennessee, I like Purdue and I really like Miami (OH)."
Wherever he goes, academics will be a factor.
"I'm still undecided about a major but academics will play a big part in this," he said.
Horner is currently focusing on the weight room and improving his numbers.
"Right now, I'm 6-3, 195," he said. "I played no winter sport; I was just lifting. We're doing the Bigger, Stronger, Faster program.
"I ran a 4.67 40 and that was before last season started so I'm probably faster now."
