Maple Heights DE Is One To Watch

This season, Maple Heights (OH) High School will be the home of some quality football prospects. Tops on that list could be Terrico Marshall, a fine DE who ranks right up there with the best in the state at his position.

One of Ohio's best kept secrets in the area of football recruiting is defensive line prospect Terrico Marshall out of Maple Heights. Marshall (6-3, 240) is ranked as one of the state's top 30 overall prospects in the spring edition of Ohio High.

Marshall has no offers as of yet, but he is getting some heavy contact by some local programs.

"I'm going over to Pitt on Saturday," Terrico said. "Kent State and Ohio U are contacting me regularly. Iowa is contacting me the most, but I haven't been out there yet."

Marshall lists his favorites as Miami (FL), Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, and Pitt and says he has decided on at least two camps he would like to attend.

"I'll camp at Ohio State and North Carolina for sure. I don't know about anywhere else," he said. "I didn't go to any camps last year."

Marshall, who had 5-1/2 sacks and 14 TFL last year, has fine speed for a lineman and has shown a good motor as he can run down plays from sideline to sideline. Performance at camps may determine what position he plays in the future.

"I prefer to play defensive end but some say I could be a linebacker," he said. "But a lot of schools are talking about me moving down to tackle. I'm fine with that."

Marshall, who has posted a 350 bench, 300 clean, and a 475 squat, is a fine athlete and has a unique pastime.

"I wrestled and I might run track; I haven't decided yet," he said. "Boxing is my main spare time activity."

When can we expect a decision from Terrico?

"I would like to make a decision before the season but it depends on who offers," he said.
