Ohio State Offer Coming For Daniels?

After a fine performance at Nike Camp, some felt that ATH Alex Daniels of Columbus Marion-Franklin would be a candidate for a Buckeye offer down the line. But you can forget about down the line because Alex says it is already happening.

In an interview tonight with ATH Alex Daniels of Columbus Marion-Franklin, we got a bit of a surprise answer after asking him what schools had offered.

"Ohio State..." he began.

That was not what was expected when asked that question, so when asked to verify, he explained that the Buckeyes had told him an offer was there.

"Coach Fickell called the school and made the offer," Alex said. "I'm waiting for it to arrive in writing."

The Buckeyes aren't the only ones to catch on this early.

"I've also got offers from Toledo, Buffalo, West Virginia, Bowling Green, and Ohio U," he said.

Some other big-time programs are paying attention as well.

"Oklahoma will be in Friday, and Nebraska's coming in to see me run track," Alex said. "I run the 4x1, the 4x2, and the open 200. I run a 10.8 100 meters, but we have Keith Massey, who ran a 10.6. He beat Erik Haw."

Even with a Buckeye offer, don't expect this Columbus standout to decide early.

"I'm looking around. I want to see a lot of schools before making a decision," he said. "I'd like for Miami, Florida, and Florida State to contact me.

"I will take all five visits. I want to be sure about my decision."
