Buckner Looking For Offers

OL John Buckner of Columbus Beechcroft is known as one of Central Ohio's top linemen. He has been working hard in the offseason and is ready to make a run at some offers this summer.

OL John Buckner of Columbus Beechcroft has been getting attention this spring as he has been receiving hand-written letters from Ohio U., Kentucky, Michigan State, and Notre Dame. The big guy will be looking to camp all over the Big Ten region this summer.

"I went to Ohio State and West Virginia camps last year," he said. "This year I'm looking to go to Ohio State, Michigan, Pitt, and UC."

Bucker plays mostly tackle and is being recruited for that position. He's been working hard in recent months to improve his status.

"I'm 6-6, 310 and I ran a 5.3 at school," he said. "I've been going to a personal trainer since January, mostly working on speed and pro agility."

Buckner is looking to major in history or political science and is already all set academically.

"I got a 21 on my SAT and I got a 3.5 core," he said.

What will be the key factors in his decision?

"I think I want to wait. I want to see who comes in with offers," he said. "Strong academics, a strong football program and be somewhat close to home so my mom can come see me play."
