Standout New Jersey DT Interested In Buckeyes

DT Kade Weston of New Jersey is rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle in the United States by The Buckeyes are among several schools he is interested in.

DT Kade Weston of Red Bank High School in Little Silver, New Jersey is one of the most highly recruited players in the Garden State as he has offers from all over America, including from Ohio State.

"Yes, they have offered me," Weston said. "Coach Hazell is recruiting me for Ohio State."

Weston (6-5, 300, 5.0) had 114 tackles, 14 sacks and 20 TFL last season at DT and also plays OL as well. He has his sights set on one side of the ball though.

"I am not going to play offense," he said. "That's going to be a major factor."

Distance will not be a factor in Weston's decision. So far, he has taken unofficial visits to Maryland, Rutgers, Boston College, and Syracuse, and he camped at Georgia.

"I'm going to be taking all my visits," he said. "There's no question."

Weston seems to still be in the early phases of his recruiting process.

"I have no order yet," he said. "I have not even narrowed it down to set up five schools yet."

What does Kade like about the Buckeyes?

"All the coaches I've talked to so far are really good guys," he said.

Weston also listed some factors that would play a key role in the decision.

"Good program's important to me," he said. "Getting along with the players and coaches is highly important. I'm really not concerned about early playing time. If I get early playing time, fine. If not, it's not going to be a problem."
