Daniels Tiring Of Recruiting Process

ATH Alex Daniels of Columbus Brookhaven seems to be getting worn out by the recruiting process. Duane Long caught up with Daniels, who discussed a timetable for his decision and more.

Back in the spring, RB/DB Alex Daniels of Columbus Brookhaven saw his stock shoot up like a rocket, and schools from all over began talking to him more. As the summer months have moved on though, Daniels became more ready for recruiting to be over with.

"I'm getting a little bit tired of the process here," he said. "I was enjoying it at first, but now I'm really starting to get tired of it."

Daniels, a top ten Ohio prospect as rated by Ohio High magazine, seems to have decided to choose between Ohio State and Oklahoma, both of whom have offered him a scholarship.

"Nobody else that I'm really interested in has been in contact," he said.

Daniels also seems to have a time frame set for his decision.

"Oklahoma wants me to come in for the Texas game early in the season (10/9)," he said. "After that, I'm going to go ahead and make my decision between Ohio State and Oklahoma."

Daniels recently measured at 6-4, 227 with his shoes on. In an earlier conversation, Daniels mentioned that he had a vision problem and had a hard time seeing at all on the field, but that has been corrected as he now has glasses.

"Man, I am seeing so much better now," he said. "There is a big difference. I can actually see the hole now."

Brookhaven is expected to be one of Division II's strongest teams this year, and Daniels agrees that things are looking good.

"We had a three-team scrimmage yesterday," he said. I think we're going to have a real good football team. We made some changes, and I'm back at safety. I didn't get a lot of action because nobody was getting into our secondary."
