One of several Florida players who has shown an interest in Ohio State is linebacker Neefy Moffett of Palm Bay Senior High School in Melbourne, Florida. Moffett is ranked by theInsiders.com as the No. 25 linebacker in America and has scholarship offers from Ohio State, Oklahoma, Florida State, USC, Texas, LSU, and many others.
As of now, Moffett has not taken any visits.
"No, not one visit yet," he said. "I'm likely going to wait until after the season."
Has he ever been up to Ohio State?
"No, but I have an aunt who lives in Columbus," he said.
Right now, Moffett seems to be focusing on seven schools, with Ohio State being one of them.
"I've narrowed it down to Miami, Florida State, LSU, Texas, USC, Ohio State, and Oklahoma," he said.
It sounds like his official visits will be the key in determining his college destination.
"The visits are going to be very important," Moffett said. "I have to find an environment where I am comfortable with the players, the coaches and the surroundings."
Moffett, who has been measured at 6-1 and says he is at 230 right now, has played both linebacker and defensive end in high school.
"I can play either linebacker or defensive end," he said. "I'm playing linebacker right now. All the film on me from last year is at defensive end."
So far this year, Moffett's team has seen their ups and downs.
"We got off to a rough start," he said. "We lost one district game. If we win out, we make the playoffs."
Moffett also says that grades are not going to be a concern.
"I'm set on my grades," he said. "It's not a problem."
