Wilson's Plans Stay The Same

We caught up with offensive lineman Ronnie Wilson of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely recently. The four-star lineman talked about his situation, the situation at Florida, and when a decision might come.

Offensive lineman Ronnie Wilson of Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely is in a holding pattern right now. Wilson, who has been rated as one of the top ten overall prospects in the state of Florida and the No. 18 offensive lineman in the country by scout.com, has taken official visits to Florida, N.C. State, and Pittsburgh, but things are on a wait-and-see basis right now with the Gators.

"It's pretty much the same," Wilson said. "I just need to see what happens. I need to see who the coach is. Down here, we keep hearing (Steve) Spurrier."

Even though Spurrier announced today he will not pursue the Florida coaching position, a report by GatorCountry.org quoted Wilson as saying a Spurrier hiring would not necessarily have a large impact on his decision anyway.

"If he comes back, I guess it really wouldn't make a big difference, other than he's been there and I know how he coaches," Wilson had said.

Wilson will be taking his fourth official visit to Ohio State this month, and then he will be making a decision.

"I will be making my official visit with Carlton Jackson for the Michigan game on November 20," Wilson said. "Then it's decision time. I'm going to enroll early, so I don't have a whole lot of time to think it over."

There would still be one official visit Wilson could take, but right now, the list stands at four.

"I'm not sure about the last one," he said. "Right now, I'm not taking any more. I will just decide between the four."

Wilson has been adamant about not naming a leader and remains that way.

"I'm not saying I have a favorite right now," he said. "They're all the same."

Signing day for early enrollees is December 23rd. Expect Wilson to decide before then.
