Richmond (Va.) Huguenot cornerback Sean Smalls says Ohio State is among his top four college choices. But Smalls has not begun making plans on his official visit schedule.

Smalls (6-1, 185, 4.51) told he hopes to make visits to Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and UCLA. All have offered. He made an unofficial visit to Penn State in October for the Purdue game. He also made an unofficial visit to North Carolina as well recently. He has roughly 20 scholarship offers

"I have talked to (OSU secondary coach Mel) Tucker," Smalls said. "He is really nice. I've also talked to Coach (Jim) Bollman. I just like the play of their DBs."

Smalls is ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect in Virginia and as the nation's 28th-best cornerback prospect. He tallied six interceptions as a junior. This season, he has 40 tackles and 10 pass break-ups, but no picks.

"They don't hardly throw the ball my way," Smalls said.

Regarding his ability as a corner, Smalls said, "I think I have good technique. I think I'm pretty good in man to man coverage. I do a good job of jumping routes."

When asked if quick playing time is a big factor for him, Smalls said, "It doesn't really matter to me. I want to be somewhere where I feel comfortable."

Smalls holds a 2.8 GPA and will take the SAT in December.
