Owens (6-3, 275, 4.84) is ranked as the nation's 15th-best defensive tackle and as Florida's No. 19 prospect overall by Scout.com.
Owens told Bucknuts.com his current top six would be OSU, Miami (Fla.), Florida State, Oklahoma, Georgia and N.C. State. All have offered. Owens attended camp at N.C. State last summer.
"I do have an offer from Ohio State, but I haven't heard from then in a while," Owens said. "I would not mind getting away from home to go to school and maybe trying something new. Right now, I am very open-minded."
Owens burst on the scene as a junior with 90 tackles, 14 sacks and 26 tackles-for-loss for Plantation's 10-2 team.
His numbers are just as impressive this year. As a senior, he has 50 tackles, 12 sacks and 26 tackles-for-loss in helping Plantation open 9-0. Plantation met Miami Northwestern in the first round of the playoffs this weekend.
"I play defensive tackle, but I can also play end," Owens said. "I think I have a real quick first step. I get off the ball well and I use my hands well. I think I could play end or tackle at the college level."
Owens holds a 3.3 GPA and is awaiting test results.
