The weather can get nasty sometimes in the Oklahoma area, and that's what happened this weekend as Mother Nature prevented Alex Daniels from making a scheduled visit to Oklahoma University.
"They cancelled my flight," Daniels said. "There were tornadoes in the flight path, so we rescheduled for December. I can't remember which date."
In addition to Oklahoma and Ohio State, Daniels has expressed interest in Miami (Fla.) and Florida State, but those two schools are still evaluating him.
"I don't know what's going on with Miami and Florida State," he said. "They haven't offered me yet, so I'm going to have to wait and see what happens."
Daniels originally was talking about making a decision before the season, but he has shifted gears on that.
"I'm in no hurry," he said. "I am likely to wait until February to make this decision. I am going to explore all my options completely."
One reason is because Daniels and unbeaten Brookhaven are focused on making a run to the state title.
"To tell you the truth, I'm not really thinking about recruiting that much," Daniels said. "Right now, I'm enjoying high school so much. We've more games this year than I've won the rest of my high school career total. I'm having way too much fun."
Daniels has been offered a scholarship by OSU and Oklahoma. He is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 16 safety in America by Scout.com.
