"I'll be going there the first week of January instead," Beckum said. "They called me this past week about it. That's fine with me. I got to watch some of their game with Michigan on TV. They upset them. They played pretty good."
Beckum (6-5, 225, 4.56) is ranked as the nation's No. 72 prospect by Scout.com. He is also rated as the nation's seventh-best defensive end and as the top overall prospect in Wisconsin.
"I have talked to (assistant Luke) Fickell a lot on the telephone," Beckum said. "He says I have a chance to play there and be successful. He says I could help their team out. I like their coaches and their style of football."
Beckum visited Oklahoma Nov. 12. He will see Tennessee this weekend. He has visits set with Wisconsin and Miami (Fla.) during December.
"Oklahoma was nice," Beckum said. "The people there were really nice."
When asked if he had a current favorite, he replied, "No, not really."
Beckum had 40 solo tackles, 12 sacks and eight interceptions as a junior. This year, he split time between outside linebacker, wide receiver and punter for an 8-3 team.
He holds a 3.0 GPA and scored a 17 on the ACT. He plans to retake the test in January.
