Elijah Hodge of Ft. Lauderdale Dillard was one of several excellent recruits in attendance for the Ohio State/Michigan game. Hodge was on an official visit.
"I was there at Ohio State for the Michigan game," Hodge said. "That was my only visit so far... The atmosphere was incredible. They really love football up there."
Right now, OSU and Iowa seem to be two schools Hodge is focusing on. As many OSU fans know, Hodge's brother Abdul is an outstanding linebacker currently playing for the Hawkeyes.
"I am going to Iowa next weekend," Hodge said. "I am likely to just take those two. I could take another, but I doubt it."
Hodge does not have a timetable for a decision. It sounds like we'll know when he knows.
"I'll make my decision when I am 100 percent sure about it," Hodge said. "It could be right after my Iowa visit; it could be signing day."
Hodge is coming off a season that was disappointing for his team.
"It was kind of disappointing because we had to forfeit all our games," he said. "A player involved did not even play a lot."
Hodge is a fine athlete who has played three sports for Dillard.
"Right now, I'm 6-0, 205. I ran a 4.6 at the Nike camp at Miami," he said.
"I run track and I wrestled. I will likely wrestle 215. Last year I was 189 and placed seventh in the state."
