Linebacker Alex Daniels is still on cloud nine after his team's state championship victory over Avon Lake on Friday night.
"Everyone just came to play," Daniels said. "We had great determination. We came out from the opening kickoff and took it to them.
"We were trying to race each other down to make the first hit. Keith Massey made first contact. The next guy knocked it loose."
Daniels had two touchdowns, seven tackles, a fumble recovery, a tackle for loss, and a tipped pass in the game. He is excited to be a part of the first ever team from the Columbus City League to win a title.
"It was just great for us," he said. "There was supposed to be a parade or something. We were so happy to be able to win this for all the Columbus City League players. We think we can play with anybody."
Daniels will be taking an official visit to Minnesota next weekend, then Oklahoma on the 17th, 18th and 19th. Daniels is still also interested in LSU and the Florida schools.
"LSU is talking to me now," he said. "I'm going to wait and see what happens with Florida schools."
Interestingly, Daniels said that Ohio State will not be one of the schools he takes an official visit to.
"I told Ohio State tonight I wouldn't be taking an official visit," he said. "I just don't need to. I live down the street."
