Thomas (6-1, 180, 4.3) is rated as the eighth-best overall prospect in Georgia by Scout.com. He is also the nation's 10th-best cornerback prospect.
He committed to Georgia Tech in September and was supposed to make an official visit there this weekend.
"We canceled it early in the week," Thomas said. "Something came up. Georgia Tech is still in the running."
Thomas has visits set with Ohio State Jan. 7 and LSU Jan. 14. He may also make visits to Louisville, Georgia Tech and Georgia in January.
"I talked to (OSU assistant Mel) Tucker this week," Thomas said. "He's a real cool guy. He is recruiting me as a corner. He says I have a chance to go in there and play early. I am looking forward to coming up there for a visit."
As a junior, Thomas had 24 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns to go with 36 tackles and two interceptions. This year, he made 28 catches on offense and had three interceptions on defense.
He holds a 2.5 GPA and scored an 870 on the SAT.
