Wells Thinking Things Over

We'll have to wait until the U.S. Army All-American Bowl to find out if running back Maurice Wells will be a Buckeye. Ohio State is in the top two, and Wells is thinking things over right now. Duane Long caught up with Wells last night for an update.

We caught up with running back Maurice Wells of Jacksonville (Fla.) Sandalwood last night, and he reiterated that he was going to pick between Ohio State and Georgia Tech.

"I am done visiting," Wells said. "I am just taking the four. I am down to Ohio State and Georgia Tech. I will announce at the Army All-Star game."

Wells insists that he is still coming up with a final choice.

"I have not decided," he said. "Anything out there that I am leaning one way or the other is not true. I have not decided yet. I want to take my time and think it over."

Wells has family in Ohio, and they have been hopeful that he will pick Ohio State.

"I am not originally from Ohio," Wells said. "I am from Michigan. I have been down here about four years. I do have a lot of family in Ohio though."

What is it about Georgia Tech that got Wells interested in them?

"I got interested in Georgia Tech because they were the first to show interest and the first to offer me," he said.

What will be the key factors in his decision?

"My decision will be based on where I felt the most comfortable," he said. "It will be a gut feeling. My parents are fine with whatever I decide. It is my decision."

Wells also made a comment on the Troy Smith situation.

"I heard about that," Wells said. "I am really sorry for Troy. That is too bad for him."
