Collins Does Not Make Trip To FSU

Running back Conredge Collins of Miami (Fla.) Pace did not make his scheduled visit to Florida State this weekend. Collins did not specify why, but he did have some interesting words about Ohio State. Duane Long has more.

Running back Conredge Collins of Miami (Fla.) Pace was scheduled to visit Florida State this weekend, but he did not make the trip. He did not specify why.

"I didn't go," he said. "I might not reschedule. I don't know yet."

Based on what Collins said this evening, things could be falling into place for Ohio State.

"I'm still scheduled to go to Florida State, but right now, Ohio State's at the top of my list after this thing with Florida State," he said.

The University of Florida is also on Collins' list, but Collins is uncertain about their offense.

"I look at Florida, and they've got a new offensive coordinator coming in," he said. "It could be the West Coast offense. Ohio State plays the kind of ball that I want to play."

What got him interested in Ohio State?

"The depth chart," he said. "There's an opportunity to play early there."

Even though the temperature reached 50 degrees in Ohio today, Collins will still have to make an adjustment if he chooses to come north. But he does not seem to be hung up over weather.

"That's cold, as far as I'm concerned," he said of the 50-degree temperature. "I don't care. I just want to play. Ohio State's a good fit."

Collins has also visited North Carolina State. He may not wait until signing day to decide.

"I could decide right after my visits," he said.
