Thomas (6-1, 180, 4.3) is rated as the eighth-best overall prospect in Georgia by Scout.com. He is also the nation's 10th-best cornerback prospect.
"I was impressed with the players and how they are a family," Thomas said. "I liked that as well as the coaches and everything else."
Thomas talked about some of the other aspects of his visit.
"I really liked the tour or the stadium," Thomas said. "I got to spend some time with (OSU assistant coach Mel) Tucker. He's a really good guy. They said I would have a chance to compete for a job. We went to the basketball game (with Iowa) and that was a good time, too.
"I really hit it off pretty good with Nate Salley and Ted Ginn. They pretty much told me to make sure I make the right decision for me."
Thomas said OSU is recruiting him as a cornerback and wide receiver. "Kind of like Ted Ginn," he said.
Thomas visited Clemson in December. He will see South Carolina next weekend, followed by Mississippi Jan. 22 and Florida Jan. 29.
When asked if he sees himself playing at Ohio State, Thomas said, "It's a possibility. But I'm going to wait until I take all of my visits before I decide."
When asked if he has a favorite, he said, "No, not really."
Thomas committed to Georgia Tech in September, but has dropped Tech from consideration.
As a junior, Thomas had 24 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns to go with 36 tackles and two interceptions. This year, he made 28 catches on offense and had four interceptions on defense. He ended up with over 1,000 total yards and nine touchdowns scored.
