Buckeyes Offer Juniors On Signing Day

While fans were anxiously waiting to see what uncommitted recruits would sign with Ohio State today, the Buckeye staff was one step ahead of the game for next season. OSU offered at least four Ohio juniors today, including OL/DL Aaron Brown of Cincinnati Princeton. Read on for more.

Ohio State is taking an interesting strategy this signing day. While the seniors are out signing their letters of intent, OSU extended offers to four top Ohio underclassmen -- OL Conner Smith of Cincinnati Colerain, DE Robert Rose of Cleveland Glenville, ATH Ray Small of Cleveland Glenville, and OL/DL Aaron Brown of Cincinnati Princeton.

"We have been told the offer has been sent," said Aaron's father George. "Aaron is blown away by this. He talked to 4 coaches just now.

"We will be up this weekend. We will be up there 10AM Saturday. I guess that is when we will meet the coaches. We will be going the Blue Chip banquet.

George Brown also said Maryland, Boston College, Cincinnati, and Indiana have offered and "Florida and Wisconsin will likely offer before the day is out."

Brown can play either OL or DL. He is up to 6-6, 283 pounds.

"We will have this over by by summer," George Brown said. "Ohio State is definitely the team to beat. They have all the right things. He is already qualified."

Out of the 2005 seniors, OSU has also offered offensive lineman Justin Boren of Pickerington North and running back Chris Wells of Akron Garfield, who currently ranks as the top prospect from Ohio this year.
