Focus '06 - Carl Fisher (WR)

Carl Fisher is one of the top junior wide receiver prospects in the Midwest. He received his first scholarship offer last April from Utah and several schools since then have contacted him via-mail. Fisher talks about his early contacts and which schools are at the top of his wish list.

"Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue, USC, Iowa, Florida, Michigan and Ohio State are my favorites," Carl Fisher said.

"I've been getting a lot of mail. Most of the letters are hand-written, asking how my season went and asking me to attend their camp. Utah is my only offer right now.

"I'm not sure if I'm going to camp anywhere this summer. We'll see what happens in April and May during spring evaluation and I'll make a decision after that."

Bolingbrook is a 80/20 run-pass offense but Fisher still managed 500 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in 2004. He was an all-conference and all-area selection.

"Utah offered Carl (Fisher) as a sophomore," said Bolingbrook head coach, John Ivlow.

"Coach (Urban) Meyer has left but the new Utah coach told me that he still wants Carl. Coach Meyer is also going to recruit him at Florida as well.

"A lot of schools told me that they were going to offer Carl after signing day. Michigan, Iowa and Northwestern are a few of the schools off the top of my head that are extremely interested.

"Northwestern might have the inside track if they offer. Carl likes them a lot and he wants to go to medical school.

"Carl is strong, he loves the weight-room and he's a burner. The kid can fly. One of Carl's best attributes is his blocking. He can be a great blocker when he wants to be.

"Carl is a stretch guy. He's going to get separation on deep passes. He's also very good at returning punts and kicks."
