Schoenhoft Warming Up The Arm For Next Year

While many of the incoming Buckeye athletes are busy with track, quarterback Rob Schoenhoft is one who has been working on football this spring. We caught up with him to find out what he has been doing as well as his plans for the coming weeks.

Ohio State signee Rob Schoenhoft is not involved in any spring sports. After helping his Cincinnati St. Xavier basketball team reach the state final four, Schoenhoft has cleared the decks this spring as he prepares to begin his college football career this fall.

"I am throwing a lot," Schoenhoft said. "One of the quarterbacks from here is walking on at Notre Dame. He came back and showed me some of the drills they do there and I've been working on those. I'm throwing with him three times a week."

Schoenhoft has also participated in early practice sessions for the Ohio All-Star Classic and the Big 33 Football Classic.

He was among the OSU signees in attendance at the Scarlet and Gray Game in April.

"That was a lot of fun up there for the spring game," Schoenhoft said. "The guy from California (Ryan Williams) and Alex Boone and the rest of them were there. We ate at the Hall of Fame Café and had a good time."

Besides participating in the all-star games, Schoenhoft discussed his summer plans.

"They want me to come up a day or two before my orientation," he said. "I'm going to try and get up there another time. They said it would be good for me to run on my own. I am doing that up at the school."

Schoenhoft graduates from St. X June 1. He holds a 2.8 GPA and scored a 24 on the ACT.
