Trotwood-Madison cornerback Jovani Chappel is ranked as the No. 21 player in the state by Ohio High Magazine.
The 5-8, 175-pound Chappel does not have ideal size, but he is extremely quick and plays with great toughness.
Chappel explained his plans for this summer.
"(Trotwood head coach Maurice) Douglass is working Michigan's camp, so for sure I'll be there for a day," he said. "And I'm going to come here for a day to Ohio State. As a team camp, we're going to 7-on-7 at West Virginia. And then on my own time, I'm going to try and hit Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Purdue."
Chappel already has an impressive group of scholarship offers.
"Right now, I have Purdue and a lot of MAC schools," he said. "Also, West Virginia, Boston College, Marshall."
Does he have a favorite among the schools that have offered?
"Out of those schools, I can't really say right now," he said. "I'm wide open. I still need to take some more visits."
But there are some schools that he hopes will make him an offer sometime in the future.
"Actually, there's a couple schools I would like to get an offer from," Chappel said. "I've always thought it would be great to live in Ohio and get an offer from Ohio State. That's definitely one that I look forward to if it comes around, but if not, then just move on."
Chappel would like to make a decision this summer, but says he won't rush it.
"I'd like to decide, if not before the season, then midway through the season," he said.
