Thomas (6-5, 300, 4.96) was ranked as Ohio's No. 72 prospect in the May edition of Ohio High magazine. But his stock has skyrocketed this summer with a number of schools offering him a scholarship.
Thomas played at guard for St. Ed, lining up next to OSU signee Alex Boone.
Thomas told Bucknuts.com he now has offers from Boston College, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Indiana, Kansas, Cincinnati, Miami (Ohio), Bowling Green, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
"On Monday, I was at Michigan," Thomas said. "On Wednesday, I was at Boston College. On Friday, I was at Pittsburgh. I don't know if I can single out a favorite. I liked all of the line coaches at each of those places."
He discussed the competitive aspect of the OSU camp.
"You've got to bring it," Thomas said. "You have to have perfect form. The best competition was Rob Rose (of Glenville). We were about even through the matches. The first two, I got him. Then, the next few, he got me. The last few, I got him again. He was real good."
OSU offensive line coach Jim Bollman spent some time with Thomas.
"I like him a lot," Thomas said. "The new thing I learned in pass protection is instead of keeping your hands up by your chest, you can keep your hands down by your waist and come up like an upper cut to somebody. I liked that."
