Hi everyone. Fire away!
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:08:55 PM)
Is it gametime yet???? Can't imahine how much the players are looking forward to seeing live action again!
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:09:30 PM)
The six-week layoff has to be difficult for them. I think it's absurd the way the college football bowl system is set up, but until we get a playoff we're stuck with it!
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:10:38 PM)
Loved watching Michigan get so close last night with the playground play and have the ball in a slow TE's hands when it was over. 5 losses for Carr is hilarious
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:11:17 PM)
I think we're in the minority here, but I was not pulling for Michigan. The refs hurt them, but they have turnovers and defense to blame for the loss IMO. Carr's days have to be numbered.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:11:45 PM)
If Carpenter can't go, and we don't see much of D'Andrea, should we look to see D'Andrea start next year or will they go to the young guns?? I'm hoping he can still salvage his career and go out with a splash.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:12:20 PM)
I think D'Andrea will be given every opportunity to start. But also look for Kerr and Hoobler to be in the mix. All of them will play. It will be interesting to see how the starting lineup shakes out next year.
TheOhioState (Dec 29, 2005 1:12:26 PM)
Was the most important move this offseason Snyder moving on to Marshall?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:13:15 PM)
Ha! You have to give a lot of credit to the job Jim Heacock has done with this defense. Yes, he has a lot of talent to work with, but you have to wonder if he should have been offered the job over Snyder a couple years ago. I think it definitely worked out well for OSU.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:13:25 PM)
Do you think we'll be able to get pressure on Quinn with our front 4 or will Heacock have to use the blitz?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:14:15 PM)
I think OSU will have to blitz. The CAN get pressure with their front four, but how often? Iook for Heacock to mix things up. Sometimes rush four, sometimes bring a DB, sometimes a 'backer. OSU will need to mix things up and I think it will.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:14:37 PM)
Give me your starting defensive backfield for next year with and without Whitner/Youboty.

buckgrad (Dec 29, 2005 1:16:05 PM)
Dave, I know it is said that one win doesnt convince a recruit one way or the other, however, do you get the feeling that this win could set us up in the future as "the team" in the midwest for the next year or two in recruiting? Thanks
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:16:46 PM)
Yes, usually one game isn't a big deal for recruits, but this could be a big one. OSU does not play ND every year like it plays Mich so this is a very big game for recruiting purposes IMO.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:16:53 PM)
How many current OSU BB starters keep their starting jobs next year with the super frosh coming in?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:17:48 PM)
Zero. Butler will come off the bench next year IMO. Conley Jr. will be the starting PG. Lewis will start at the 2, Cook at the 3, Terwilliger at the 4 and Oden at the 5.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:17:57 PM)
With his athletic ability why not let D'Andrea rush the passer in pass situations like they used Carp this year?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:18:23 PM)
Yes, I think we will see a lot of D'Andrea at the Leo. They were even doing that with him a little bit last year before his injury.
TheOhioState (Dec 29, 2005 1:18:35 PM)
After this year's meltdown at Purdue Tiller is bringing in 7 Juco players in this recruiting class. Is he in panic mode? Is he trying to forestall an absolute decline?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:19:25 PM)
I think he's just doing what he needs to do. It can't be easy recruiting at Purdue, surrounded by OSU, Mich, ND, Iowa. I think Tiller has done a very good job there, even with the down year this year.
TheOhioState (Dec 29, 2005 1:20:37 PM)
Where do you believe Rehrig fits into the O Line scheme the next two years? He was a true frosh getting serious time at OT last year then was redshirted this year with pneumonia. Barton and Boone seem to be projected as OT starters the next two years. Does he try to move inside to OG or is he a candidate to transfer to play OT elsewhere?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:21:40 PM)
I see Rehring being a "super sub" next year who can play G or T. I think the starters will be Boone, Datish, Cordle, Downing and Barton. If any of them goes down, Rehring will be in there. Even without any injuries, I expect Big Steve to play a lot in a rotation. (Along with Connor Smith possibly.)
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:21:48 PM)
Do you really think that Michigan might let Carr go after this year's disasterous season? They would have had six losses had it not been for the last second TD vs PSU.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:21:57 PM)
I think it would be more of a
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:22:13 PM)
"retirement" situation. I don't think they will actually fire Carr.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:22:21 PM)
If VY is back in Austin next year, what are the Buckeyes' chance of winning on the road with so many new faces on D?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:23:05 PM)
I think it would be very difficult to win at Austin next year with Young. The Buckeyes can do it, but it would be tough. That said, I think Young is gone and the Bucks will roll next year.
buckgrad (Dec 29, 2005 1:23:09 PM)
Whats your gut feeling on Youboty and Whitner? OSU or NFL next year?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:23:31 PM)
I think they're both coming back. Just a gut feeling from talking to them.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:24:03 PM)
Why would Rehring transfer??? at WORST he's first off the bench and getting at least one full year as the starter after Barton graduates
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:24:12 PM)
Yes, I don't think Steve would transfer.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:24:20 PM)
Are you concerned at all about how our corners matchup with Notre Dame's receivers? That seems to be the biggest question mark.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:25:22 PM)
Notre Dame has excellent receivers with Stovall and Samardzija -- both 6-5, both over 1,000 yards and 10 TDs. Fasano is also 6-5 and a very good TE. But I think OSU's corners will be fine because they play physical. Youboty, Everett and Jenkins will hit you.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 1:25:29 PM)
Dave , who do you think will be the leader of that line? My guess would be datish
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:25:43 PM)
Datish and Downing. Both are strong candidates to be captain.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:26:24 PM)
Lawrence Wilson...think he is an impact player in the Fiesta??
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:27:01 PM)
Yes. Word is he has moved into the starting rotation at DE, along with Kudla and Patterson. Whitner is comparing LW to Will Smith.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:27:55 PM)
If you could only take one who would you pick, Darius Walker or Antonio Pittman?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:28:07 PM)
I would take Pittman, but they're both very good backs.
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:28:22 PM)
How do you see the DL playing out the next few years. It seems like no young players have stepped up this year to earn playing time. Wilson, Worthington?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:28:55 PM)
DE seems to be in very good shape with Gholston, Wilson, Worthington. It will be interesting to see what happens at DT. At least they have Pitcock for another year.
fairbornlawyer (Dec 29, 2005 1:29:22 PM)
Will Vernon Gohlston be a contributor on the field at some point? The guy looks the part like no other, but that doesn't mean much.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:29:40 PM)
Yes, I think he will be in the rotation next year. The staff seemed pleased with him during the preseason
Jonesy (Dec 29, 2005 1:29:45 PM)
Dave, what's your prediction for the final score?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:30:11 PM)
chex1868 (Dec 29, 2005 1:30:35 PM)
When they say Wilson has moved into the starting rotation. Does that mean he'll see 2/3 of the total snaps?? Also will he fill in for Carp as the rush end during nickel packages (if Carp isn't well enough to play?)
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:31:24 PM)
I still don't think we'll see much of Carpenter (he had an X-ray last night). If he plays, look for about 10-20 snaps at most IMO. Yes, I think you can expect Wilson to be in there nearly 2/3 of the time, and always in there on passing downs.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:31:33 PM)
Gotta love how much more physical Pitt has been this year...especially down the stretch. He'll find the endzone at least once.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:32:18 PM)
I agree. I look for a big game out of him. Notre Dame is decent against the run, but I look for the Bucks to establish a running game early, then go over the top if ND starts putting eight in the box.
TheOhioState (Dec 29, 2005 1:32:44 PM)
No one mentioned J Richardson in the DE discussion. Does he do a Chris Vance fadeaway?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:33:06 PM)
I think Richardson is still in the plans, he'll play, but it seems Wilson has passed him on the depth chart.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 1:33:16 PM)
Do you see Rob Schoenhoft passing Zwick up on the depth chart? It sounds as those in the know think he has already passed up T. Boeckman.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:33:49 PM)
If Zwick comes back next year, he's the backup. But I'm very impressed with Schoenhoft. I think he will be the starter in 2007 (or maybe Henton)
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:33:59 PM)
[sarcasm] Do you really think we can hold a Weis offense, who had over a month to prepare, to only 17 points? [sarcasm/] If they only get 17 Bucks win easy.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:34:48 PM)
I keep hearing how Weis is an excellent game-planner, especially when you give him time. OK, fair enough. I'm sure that's true. But have people forgotten that Jim Tressel is a big-game coach with five national titles? Weis is still a rookie head coach.
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:34:54 PM)
How do you see the RB carries playing out next year? If Chris Wells is as advirtised it would be great to see 2 backs with 750 or even 1,000 yards!
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:35:24 PM)
I look for Pitt to end up with about 1,300 yards next year, and Wells with 600. Wells will shine, but the staff will make him earn his time.
spout (Dec 29, 2005 1:35:34 PM)
Dave, what do you think of Pittman & Wells together, flaring to each side? Tough to cover.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:35:42 PM)
Do you mean Mo Wells?
spout (Dec 29, 2005 1:36:15 PM)
yeah,sorry. for the ND game
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:36:31 PM)
I don't think we'll see much of Mo Wells this game, but who knows.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:36:42 PM)
Does Patterson start at DE or DT next year? Where do you prefer him?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:37:34 PM)
I honestly like him at both. He is the Darrion Scott of this year's team. His versatility allows him to stay in there for 3 downs. He could be in for a big senior year if he works hard enough. I think that's been the only gripe about him.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:37:50 PM)
Hopefully the light goes on for Richardson like it did Kenny Peterson in his senior year. A couple pass rushing d-lineman is about the only thing this defense is missing.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:38:28 PM)
Richarson just has a problem getting his motor revved up. Talent has never been an issue, but I'm not sure if we'll ever see him produce a lot.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 1:38:42 PM)
Your thoughts on the Lyons move to Safety? Is this a No-Brainer ? You would you like to see him stay at WR?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:39:23 PM)
I think it's a good move and they can always move him back to WR if need be. They need some depth back there if Whitner goes pro. He would definitely be an imposing figure in the middle of the field at 6-4, 220.
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:39:30 PM)
Any news on how Dukes is doing? Does he fill in Holmes' spot next year or do they go with someone else?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:40:12 PM)
Gonzalez will fill Holmes' role next year most likely, but I look for a lot of PT for Dukes. Robiske and Hartline will also be in the mix.
Guest (Dec 29, 2005 1:40:24 PM)
With Wells and Pittman next year, (C Wells) does that mean the spread offense is on the outs?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:40:59 PM)
Not completely, they will continue to mix it up, but it's no secret that Tressel prefers a power running game. With Smith, Pitt and Wells next year -- and good O-line -- he will have it.
alabama buckeye (Dec 29, 2005 1:41:35 PM)
Dave - Any positions changes occuring (for us) during the bowl practice or does the staff wait until the Spring?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:41:58 PM)
Other than Lyons to safety, I don't think they're doing too much experimenting right now. Like you said, that will be saved for the spring.
Flbuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:42:04 PM)
What do you think about Jim Cordle next year? I keep hearing he is a monster.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:42:33 PM)
He will be the starting center. Bollman raved about him last spring. Cordle would have been in the two-deep this year if he didn't get injured.
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:42:40 PM)
What kind of player do you see Super Jamario O'Niel becoming? Has he progressed like the staff thought he would? I'm excited to see the Glenville Buckeye defensive backfield next year
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:43:12 PM)
I think he has a very bright future. He could be a starter next year with or without Whitner. And maybe he'll make a big play on special teams this Monday!
alabama buckeye (Dec 29, 2005 1:43:22 PM)
Dave - Any skuttlebut on Whitner and Youboty? It seems odd that we are ramping up our recruitment of DBs and I hope that does not mean we would lose both guys. Is their performance in the Fiesta Bowl part of the decision making process?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:43:45 PM)
I think they've probably already decided. They are being tight-lipped about it, but my guess is that they will both stay.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:43:57 PM)
How big do you think Ohio State will have an advantage over ND in the team speed department?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:44:28 PM)
OSU will definitely have a speed advantage. Notre Dame has not seen a defense this fast. They've seen fast offenses, but not fast defenses.
buckgrad (Dec 29, 2005 1:44:32 PM)
Do you feel Ginn is our #1 wideout next year (assuming Holmes leaves)? I think he fits in well has a #2 slot guy.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:44:56 PM)
I agree. I look for Gonzo to be the #1, Ginn #2, Hall #3, then Dukes, Robiske, Hartline.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:45:14 PM)
If Cordle starts at center, does Datish stay at left tackle? Where does that leave Boone? I know, nice problems to have.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:45:20 PM)
I think Datish will slide to guard next year.
alabama buckeye (Dec 29, 2005 1:45:27 PM)
Dave - If Cordle moves to center full time next year what happens to Datish and Boone?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:45:36 PM)
Boone will likely be the starting LT
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 1:45:46 PM)
What kind of season does Troy Smith need next year to go out as a Buckeye legend? I think if he throws for 2000/18TDs and runs for over 500 with 5TDs and ANOTHER win over Michigan (have them at home and the D will be experienced by then) he's gotta be considered with Germaine if not Kern/Schlichter.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:46:55 PM)
He's already had the second-best QB efficiency rating in the history of OSU football, behind Hoying in '95. If Smith has an even better year next year, I think you could make the case of him being the best QB in OSU history. I know, it's crazy to say, but if you look at the numbers, it's true.
ysubuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:47:03 PM)
Dave- Cordle never got any game time this season, correct? He will be a red shirt freshman next season?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:47:13 PM)
You are correct.
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:47:27 PM)
Does Tressel give Holmes a chance to field punts against ND? If not, I hope they stapled a football to Ginn's hands during practice this week.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:47:56 PM)
I think they will both be back there and yes, I look for Holmes to get a shot or three. Hopefully Ginn got all of the drops out of his system at UM.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:48:02 PM)
Boone, Datish, Cordle, Downing, Barton?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:48:16 PM)
Yes, with Rehring off the bench as a super sub that can play G or T.

Dave, Johnson or White at FB next year? Also, where does A.Amos end up playing?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:48:58 PM)
I think Johnson and White will continue to split time. The staff likes both of them very much. Amos is a CB all the way and could be a starter next year if Youboty leaves.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:49:17 PM)
Does Darius Walker gain over 70 yards on the ground against our defense?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:49:31 PM)
I think he'll gain between 50-80. Definitely not over 100.

DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:51:39 PM)
To begin the year, I think the starters will be Laurinaitis, D'Andrea and Freeman. But I expect Kerr to play a lot. Hoobler will also be in the mix for sure. And since I think there's no way Homan gets redshirted, he will see some time. Much like Laurinaitis this year.
ysubuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:52:45 PM)
How much do you feel that coaching enters into this game. It's obvious that Weis has coached on the highest level, but he has exactly 0 years of experience getting college kids ready for a bowl game while Coach Tressel has obviously found a formula that works. The X's and O's are the easy part, IMO.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:53:39 PM)
I agree. Weis is a very good coach, no question. But he's still a rookie head coach, going up against a proven big-game college coach like Tressel. I think if anything, OSU has a coaching advantage in this game. Now, maybe once he's been around for a while, Weis will be one of the best. But not yet.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 1:53:48 PM)

Do you think that the move of Lyons to S is not just about next year and has more to do with this game than people think??? With 6 weeks to prepare do you think we may see him in the redzone defense to help negate the height advantage of ND's WR's?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:55:24 PM)
I don't think so. The Buckeyes are pretty deep at S with Salley, Whitner, O'Neal, Mitchell, Patterson (and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone). I think they just want to get a look at Lyons to see what he can do next year.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:55:35 PM)
Isn't Lyons getting a medical redshirt?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:55:52 PM)
That was my understanding. They could always choose to burn it for the bowl game, but it's unlikely.
Flbuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:56:00 PM)
Dave- How is Mike D's knee? He was still hobbling around towards the end of the year. Are they keeping how bad that injury was? I read on the message board a month or so ago that his knee swelled every game this year.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:56:26 PM)
He's such a gamer, he probably convinced the doctors he was fine and came back too early. I don't expect to see him too much on Monday. Just rest up for next year!
buckgrad (Dec 29, 2005 1:56:44 PM)
which young player do you think steps up big time next year, kind of like Pittman did this year?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:56:55 PM)
If defense counts, I would go with Lawrence Wilson.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:57:08 PM)
Offensively, maybe Dukes.
NYCBuck (Dec 29, 2005 1:57:30 PM)
Do you see Tressell staying with a spread offense with Henton in two years or going with the Hoying-like Shoenhoft and more of a traditional drop back passing attack?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:58:34 PM)
It just depends on which QB is more impressive. They will cater the system for the starting QB, so it could go either way. But from his video, it looks like Henton could be a traditional dropback passer if he wanted to be. And Schoenhoft runs surprisingly well. So, it could go either way. There's a lot to be excited about with these two young QBs IMO.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 1:58:52 PM)
Is there any word on Mitchum and Person? Expectations were so high when they were recruited .
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 1:59:29 PM)
They are still fighting their way up the depth chart. I compare their situations with TJ Downing, who didn't play until midway through his third season in the program. Mitchum and Person are still in their second years.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 1:59:45 PM)
Do you think that the Natonal Championship was played earlier this year when OSU played Texas? I think they stomp a mudhole on USC
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:00:09 PM)
Very well could have been. I think the Rose Bowl will be close, but that +8 for Texas is looking good!
alabama buckeye (Dec 29, 2005 2:00:20 PM)
Dave - After our recent domination against Michigan plus the fact that they can't win bowl games and the comments by both Crable and Burgess that they cannot really go back to their home towns without being harrassed why would kids venture to Michigan?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:01:11 PM)
There will always be players from Ohio at Michigan (doesn't it make you sick?) but I think we will continue to see less and less of the great players going up there.

This could be a big game for Ginn. ND will focus on stopping Holmes and Pitt and that could open things up for Ginn.

If Llyod gets fired or retires where does Michigan go for a coach? I heard Bo said he will never hire Les Miles because of moral issues??
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:04:40 PM)
That's a real good question. They could promote from within, but who? Malone? I think they will probably go outside to find someone, but it's hard to say who. Maybe a Jeff Tedford?

Is Ginn runnig track this spring?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:05:06 PM)
Yes, he said a few weeks ago that he was planning on running track this winter and spring

Any news on D.Johnson or T.Gibson? Next commit in your opinion?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:05:40 PM)
Nothing to report on Johnson or Gibson, but my guess for the next commit is Colin McCarthy.

Has the ship sailed on Lenix?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:06:25 PM)
Yes, I believe so. Looks like he's going to end up at UC.
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 2:06:37 PM)
Do we finally see a successful trick play (reverse/option pass) with Ginn in the Shot-Ginn formation?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:07:03 PM)
We'll definitely see some new plays. I look for at least 1-2 trick plays, but no more than that.
Mr. Almanac (Dec 29, 2005 2:07:40 PM)
Thanks for the chat, Dave. If only the rest of the Bucknuts staff could type as fast. lol j/k
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:07:50 PM)
No problem. Hey, Steve is pretty fast himself.
buckgrad (Dec 29, 2005 2:08:06 PM)
when do you feel McCarthy commits?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:08:26 PM)
I think he is going to announce right after the Fla/Cal All-Star game, or maybe even during the game.

Happy New Years Dave. Think good Buckeye thoughts this weekend
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:09:00 PM)
Happy New Years to all of you as well! I have a good feeling about this game. Notre Dame is overrated IMO. Good team, but not on OSU's level this year.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 2:09:22 PM)
BB? here. With Lauderdale,Koufos,Diebler(committed),Pogue and Jackson all high on OSU do you see this basketball class just as good as 06? thanks adn Happy New Year to YA!
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:10:04 PM)
I don't think it will be as good, simply because Oden is the best college prospect since Magic Johnson. But it is amazing that Matta is following up the '06 class with another excellent class.
buckgrad (Dec 29, 2005 2:10:25 PM)
thanks Dave, nice response to the Quinn question, impressive quick come back. ha
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:10:38 PM)
No problem, thanks for dropping by. If we can't have a little fun, what's the point?
avluey (Dec 29, 2005 2:11:02 PM)
I'd love to see TS and Ginn string the option out to the right and have TS pull up and chuck it dwon to Gonzo on the fly or Holmes on the crossing route
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:11:44 PM)
The '"fake option pass" turned into quite a play for OSU the second half of the season. If you remember, they almost scored a TD on it during the PSU game (the first time they used the play) but Smith barely overthrew Holmes.
ysubuck (Dec 29, 2005 2:12:43 PM)
Thanks for the info, Dave-Happy New Year. One last thing. Is Marcel Frost getting all the number one reps at TE? I'm thinking that the TE is going to get a lot of looks during this game and Frost is a definite threat.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:13:44 PM)
Happy New Year! Frost is getting the majority of snaps with the ones, but I think Hamby is also in the mix. I was really impressed with the way Frost came on at the end of the season. Soft hands for a big, fast man. NFL potential if he keeps his head on straight.
pmoss (Dec 29, 2005 2:13:49 PM)
Chimdi Chekwa is he underrated? he is listed as 2 star on Scout.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:14:34 PM)
I think the big reason he flew under the radar is because he moved from New Orleans to Florida prior to his junior year. Anytime an athlete moves mid-high school, it's harder to keep track of them.

Quick BB question, with the 9-0 start what's our final record?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:15:14 PM)
I like 25-7, somewhere around there. I think this team is headed for the Sweet 16 at least.
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:17:26 PM)
Well gentlemen (and ladies!) any final questions before we wrap things up?

Forsee any coaching changes with the Bucks Staff?
DaveBiddle (Dec 29, 2005 2:24:09 PM)
As long as Hazell doesn't get gobbled up, no I do not. I think the staff will stay in tact next year. But eventually, Hazell is going to get a head coaching job somewhere, or maybe a high-profile OC position, or NFL position coach.
