Buckeyes Showing Interest In Middletown OL

Middletown OL Cory Pigg will be an offensive line prospect to keep an eye on this year. Pigg already has received an invite to camp at Ohio State in the summer.

In 2005, Ohio State came down to Middletown (Oh.) High School and added Middies defensive back Andre Amos to their roster. Next year, the Buckeyes could have their eye on offensive lineman Cory Pigg.

Pigg (6-4, 295) used to play at Trenton Edgewood but transferred when Edgewood was in danger of losing their football team.

"I could have stayed at Egdewood but I wanted to get settled," Pigg said. "The levy was passed but it was too late."

Pigg played left guard this year for Middletown.

"This was my first time playing guard," he said. "I had played tackle before"

He has camped at Ohio State before and will likely do so again.

"Ohio State has invited me up camp," he said. "The only camp I went to was Ohio State as a sophomore. I did a 5.3 at that camp & 4.98 shuttle run. I was 285 at the time. "

Right now, Pigg is lifting three days a week and will also likely run track later in the year. He says he will have his eye on team depth charts, proximity to home and how well he gets along with the coaching staff.

"I would like to take all my visits and see what there is for me out there," he said.

Pigg expects to major in physical therapy or sports training.

"I will take my ACT in February," he said. "I have a 3.0 GPA."
