Lakota West Junior Receiving Mail

Plenty of talent has come out of West Chester (Oh.) Lakota West High School in recent years. Junior offensive lineman Nathan Toney could be another name to add to that list.

If his stack of mail is any indication, then junior offensive lineman Nathan Toney of West Chester Lakota West will be a player to watch in Ohio this season.

"I am getting mail from Tennessee, Iowa, Maryland and Wisconsin," Toney said.

Lakota West has sent two players to Ohio State (Steve Rehring, Brandon Maupin) and a third, Josh Chichester, will sign with the Buckeyes in February. Toney (6-5, 260) plans on camping at Ohio State again this summer after camping there last year.

"As far as camps are concerned, I will be going to Ohio State again," he said. "I was there last year. I will be going to Notre Dame camp and the OL camp in Cincinnati."

He is undecided right now regarding junior days.

"Nothing yet on junior days," he said. "I have not decided which I will be going to."

Toney listed two factors that will impact his decision.

"How good the education is will have a great bearing on my decision," he said. "Close to home is important."

Early on, Toney is being recruited solely as an offensive lineman.

"No defense," he said. "I am being recruited mainly as a tackle. It really doesn't matter to me. I have played all the line positions."

Toney plays no other sports but plans on training for football soon.

"I am going to Excel training soon to work on speed and to get stronger," he said.

Toney is early in the process, but he does have two early favorites.

"My two favorites are Notre Dame and Ohio State," Toney said. "I kinda want to go through the process, so I doubt I will be making an early decision. I want to see what it is like. I want the entire experience."
