Colerain High School in Cincinnati has been home to some of the state's best prospects the past two seasons. This year's Colerain team featured several Division I prospects, four of whom are headed to Big Ten schools.
Colerain went up against fellow Cincy powerhouse St. Xavier this year and lost both times in hard-fought battles. We have video clips today from the second showdown between the two teams, an overtime battle in the playoffs won by eventual champion St. Xavier.
There are several prospects to watch for in these videos. Three Colerain (white uniforms) players are highlighted -- LB Tyler Moeller (No. 28), who has himself a heck of a game; OL Connor Smith (No. 77), who plays at the guard spot for Colerain, and DB Eugene Clifford (No. 1), a junior prospect who will be one of the best overall prospects in the state next year and a candidate for Top 100 national honors. Moeller and Smith are committed to Ohio State, while Clifford already boasts an early offer from Michigan and is interested in the Wolverines, Ohio State, and others.
Other players to watch on this tape include LB Cobrani Mixon (No. 33), who has verbally committed to Michigan; sleeper RB Terrence Sherrer (No. 27), who has committed to Minnesota, and St. Xavier sophomore RB Darius Ashley (No. 8), who gained plenty of attention by rushing for over 1,000 yards this year and becoming a main player in St. X's title run.
