Euclid, Ohio, linebacker Thaddeus Gibson helped his high school basketball team improve to 8-3 on the year with a win over Cleveland Heights on Saturday afternoon.
Gibson (6-2, 212, 4.5) said he will begin his scheduled visit to OSU on Sunday.
"We are leaving tomorrow morning at 8 a.m.," Gibson said. "I have talked to Coach (Tim) Beckman and Coach (Luke) Fickell this week. I am excited about making the visit."
Reports have Gibson – ranked as Ohio's No. 2 prospect by Ohio High and the nation's No. 7 linebacker and No. 53 prospect overall by Scout.com – favoring OSU slightly over Michigan and Tennessee.
Gibson was set to join OSU verbal Connor Smith, an offensive lineman from Cincinnati Colerain, and Aaron Gant, a defensive back from Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary Prep on official visits to OSU this weekend.
Meanwhile, sources reported that a fourth player is also making a visit to OSU this weekend. He is Gant's St. Mary Prep teammate, Anthony Bowman.
Bowman (5-11, 175, 4.4) issued a verbal committed to Iowa last June. As a senior, he played running back (764 yards and six touchdowns) as well as free safety. He could project as a running back, defensive back or wide receiver at the college level.
