NevadaBuck Chat: Jan. 16 Archive

Here are excerpts from Monday's Chat with NevadaBuck.

expresblfc (Jan 16, 2006 1:10:09 PM)
Somebody posted that JT said on his TV show that he felt like this was the first year he could 'concentrate' soley on recruiting in January.... Does staff feel that this has hurt them at all in the past with our 'poor' closing? What do you see the biggest difference between the stronger closing this year compared to the past several years?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:11:26 PM)
I think the spector of NCAA sanctions and the "black eye" that OSU had received by the national media had far more to do with any "poor finishes" than anything else...combind that with some staff turnover and that is what you get...

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 1:11:30 PM)
Do you think this class could grow to 22/23 or so?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:12:13 PM)
depending on the recruits, yes I do think it could get to 22 or 23...but I'm sticking with 21 right now

yo (Jan 16, 2006 1:12:45 PM)
Why was the Mcdaniel so secret?

buckgrad (Jan 16, 2006 1:13:00 PM)
Hey Nevada, I read on a Florida post that McDaniel will still visit FSU and Miami, are you hearing the same and do you think that really hurts our chances...if we had one. Thanks

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:13:05 PM)
Any update on Mcdaniel's visit, is he in play, or was he just window shopping.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:14:22 PM)
I'd imagine because the young man is commited to Florida, and probably didn't want it getting out. Duane had spoken to him on Thursday and got a flat denial---so go figure?? kids don't always give you the exact scoop sometime....I guess that comes as a shock to those of you that are parents out there....LOL

expresblfc (Jan 16, 2006 1:14:31 PM)
does mcdaniel visiting mean anytyhing regarding small /johnson not making grades.. or staff cooling on lyons

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:15:11 PM)
I don't believe it does....I think it was just another quality player interested in tOSU...and you can never have to many of those

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 1:15:23 PM)
larry grant???????

yo (Jan 16, 2006 1:15:35 PM)
Is the juco player Gant a possibility?

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:15:50 PM)
Grant

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:16:21 PM)
Luke fickell was supposedly trying to set up a trip for this weekend any truth to that?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:16:23 PM)
I am honestly confused by the Larry Grant situation. I'm getting conflicting info regarding the "realities" of this situation...so I

whistler (Jan 16, 2006 1:16:50 PM)
why the early offer to donnie everge and not to ben martin. if it wasn't to soon to offer everge then why havent then done the same with ben.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:17:30 PM)
(back to my Grant thought for a second)--I will have more info soon on that one..but right now I'm not sure if its just an "air bisquit"...to quote didddy

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:18:33 PM)
I think you will see a raft of early offers soon after signing day....I think OSU is well positioned to pick off a number of early commits..probably more than any other time in the Tressel era...

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 1:18:51 PM)
Next big topic (and I just tried this player and got no answer) ...

Westonbuckeye (Jan 16, 2006 1:18:54 PM)
News on gibson visit?

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 1:19:58 PM)
whats the news on t. gibson?? and is he gonna play LB or b a DE.. hed b nice comin off the edge liek will smith was

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:20:06 PM)
I've always maintained that Gibson would be a Buckeye. This is where he wants to play.

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 1:20:25 PM)
Hasn't this been a fun recruiting year? Seems like the staff is after guys the boards aren't that familiar with, so we've been getting some good surprises?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:21:21 PM)
staff hasn't stopped working it...Crushing ND for the nation to see did nothing to hurt the cause either. Could be more visitors we haven't discussed.

BNaddict (Jan 16, 2006 1:21:31 PM)
With the class filling up is there any talk of the dreaded greyshirt especially for those that may be "grade challenged?"

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:22:40 PM)
gray shirting is always a possibility. But only if it helps you to "balance" or "space" players....I think most of our guys are pretty cut and dried, however, they will either make it or not. WIth a couple of notable exceptions.

Minnesota Buckeye II (Jan 16, 2006 1:22:52 PM)
Nevada...things have picked...final projections for this class since we are running out of room (I think)...especially if Small, Browning and Gibson are in...and Gant/Bowman come?

JimC (Jan 16, 2006 1:22:58 PM)
Hi Nevada, How do we finish out the class?

yo (Jan 16, 2006 1:23:04 PM)
who is part of the Nevad 21 now?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:25:22 PM)
If I had to say right now...I would "drop" Matthews and McCarthy and add Gant, Bowman and Lyons...that would be a pretty safe 21...and leaves you room for a couple more of the "right" guys....

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 1:25:38 PM)
How excited are you about Henton? I love Schoenhoft. Can this guy compete with him?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:26:14 PM)
I think Henton is the truth. I absolutely love this guy....three stars????? are you kidding me??? LOL

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 1:26:23 PM)
What are the odds in Vegas for the Bucks to win it all next year?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:26:33 PM)
5-1

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:26:46 PM)
Olson Set to Committ tomorrow. Doesn't bode well for OSU on the heels of his Auburn trip. Have you heard or confirmed anything futher?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:27:19 PM)
I think he goes to Auburn...but as the Miller commitment shows you..you never know...

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 1:27:44 PM)
The mother told me he still planned an FSU visit this coming weekend. Of course, things can change in 12 hours (ha ha).

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:03 PM)
Still some McDaniel questions, 3 of them, I believe.

chriscagle (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:05 PM)
Sorry if this was asked, but how was McDaniel

chriscagle (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:08 PM)
Nevada sorry if this was asked but any word on McDaniel's visit? thank you

crazybuckfan40 (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:18 PM)
I appreciated the info you posted. I found out who it was in the mroning and you were right my reaction was oh s***, and I would of ran with the info I had it too. My only question is why did the staff and McDaniel keep the visit so quiet. I mean he has let it be known he is taking other visits to Miami and FSU, but kept this one quiet.

lloydchristmas (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:23 PM)
what are the chances of landing damon mcdaniel since he did visit us, there isnt much time for him to visit other schools if he is wavering

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:31 PM)
I lied, 4 of them (ha ha).

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:28:52 PM)
Yeah it doesn't bode well that you are talking to his mothe either

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 1:29:06 PM)
I talked to the mother because he was at a movie, no attempt to dodge.

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 1:29:26 PM)
I understand there will be some Olson video on the site later today, FWIW.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:29:33 PM)
I think McDaniel is just kicking tires right now. Flordia has signed a ton of guys. Troy Smith is the favorite to win the heisman. He can pair up with TG, Jr. OSU is a very attractive place to go if you want to catch the ball.

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 1:29:43 PM)
ne idea about nate oliver?? is he a 4 or 5 star guy??

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:31:50 PM)
I have Oliver as a four star guy....real real good player..

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 1:32:03 PM)
Do you think the Florida and Notre Dame classes are really as strong as they are being ranked?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:32:46 PM)
they are both real good classes. Florida's is just huge, so you always get something with big numbers. ND is back and their class reflects it.

whio (Jan 16, 2006 1:33:35 PM)
Some think Ballard might end up an OT, but he looks to me like a super TE prospect on video, whats your take on both he and Millers ultimate position? Also, Ashton Henderson looks like he would be a great get, and a real JT type player, what are our chances with him.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:34:51 PM)
I think that both Ballard and Miller could end up as OT's......"power" guys that can move.....I don't know if there is room in this class for Henderson--though I like him a lot. This is going to be a special recruiting class.

VirginiaBuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:34:57 PM)
Talking LB's for next year, most people think Laurinaitis is a lock to start next yr based on exp this yr. However, in 2 games, I don't recall him making a single tackle. What are your thoughts on the pecking order for the LB's next yr? Thanks.

lloydchristmas (Jan 16, 2006 1:35:16 PM)
im just not a believer in miller, if he himself had doubts about being able to play here why should we believe it? he didnt look very athletic on video, 99% chance hes an Olineman

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:37:16 PM)
I think the LB's next year are D'Andrea, Freeman and Laurinatis to start.......I know that I'm in the minority here, but I think Kerr gets into the mix as well in a big way. The depth of the dline is going to help these guys in the beginning....should be fun

crazybuckfan40 (Jan 16, 2006 1:37:24 PM)
Any idea on who the staff will be offering next year at or around signing day and any idea on how many junior days there will be this year. Last year we only had one big one, but yesterday was a miny one with about 5 juniors coming in.

buckeyeinsaline (Jan 16, 2006 1:37:30 PM)
Do you see JT and staff offering early to the 2007 class coming out of Ohio due

buckeyeinsaline (Jan 16, 2006 1:37:47 PM)
I say if OSU finishes in the top 20 this year, nothing to worry about. They are reploading the key positions and 2007 looks to be the JT recruiting bonanza to load up for the next 4 years of National Championship runs.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:39:06 PM)
as for Miller....I just think anytime you can get a 3.99 student of that size who can move you grab him. He will play for us down the line. You have to "plant some seeds" and "cut some trees" and he is definitely in the "seed" category.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:39:34 PM)
I think there will be more early offers this year than anytime in JT's tenure. Peterson has a lot to do with this.

lloydchristmas (Jan 16, 2006 1:39:46 PM)
agree, thats what jumped off the screen at me was his GPA

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 1:40:08 PM)
do we project small at cb or wr??? and how accurate is his listing of 5'11"

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:40:40 PM)
If we can shore up the defense quickly we will be fine next year. More favorable schedule, and veteran offense. I'm looking forward to it. If we don't make another BCS bowl it would be a real dissapointment.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:41:12 PM)
I like Small on the offensive side of the ball. And he is an amazing kick returner. Would be worth the schollie to do just that(and he can do MUCH more)

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:41:29 PM)
Is Lyons working on Walls, is a package deal possible there?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:42:20 PM)
Walls and Lyons are teammates. LOL.....I guess you never know......I do think Lyons is heading this way.

lloydchristmas (Jan 16, 2006 1:42:29 PM)
i saw in tressels comments that he said they will have leaders like d'andrea and mitchell... so on and so on.... is he basically giving them those starting jobs to lose because they are seniors?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:43:21 PM)
experience is the one thing that you can not replicate. And JT always expects his seniors to step up(ie Kudla, Wells, etc...)

underoath437 (Jan 16, 2006 1:43:31 PM)
what is the latest on Derrell Johnson?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:44:45 PM)
It will come down to grades with DJ...hopefully his grades are as good as we all hope they are and he pulls up his core.....I would really love to see him as part of this class....fine young man as well as great player...

shoefan (Jan 16, 2006 1:45:07 PM)
Is McCarthy still in the picture or has that train left?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:46:28 PM)
I think Colin is really struggling with his decision. We are not out of it by any measure. I truly believes that he wants to be a Buckeye....he is just having a problem with being so far away from his "support system"......

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:46:43 PM)
Back to Grant If I may is the confusion based on whether the staff is interested in him or if he is interested in OSU. It was reported he has applied to OSU, could you clarify any futher or is the info just not there either way?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:48:30 PM)
I think anytime you are talking about a JUCO transfer there are complications...and staff really needs to be sure where they stand academically before they even get serious.....watch the visit list on this one...if he visits, he is coming....

Minnesota Buckeye II (Jan 16, 2006 1:48:42 PM)
Nevada...a Charlie "Big/Little Tuna" Weis question. Maybe Steve could chime in on this one. Out in Arizona...he came off as an arogant ass both to the media and behind the scenes. Now word is that his "salty" language has him in a little hot water with the ND faithful. The "my Super Bowl ring is bigger than Tressel's 5 NC rings"...took the cake...any Fat Charlie stories/opinions you care to share?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:52:10 PM)
I just think that JT took him to school at the Fiesta Bowl. We are so blessed to have the best big game coach in the country at tOSU....and did I mention that he is only 53?? and that this is his dream job??? these are great times

fish61 (Jan 16, 2006 1:52:21 PM)
Do you get any word on how some of the redshirts are doing? How did some of these guys look with all the work they got leading up to the bowl game?

TheMinnesotaBuckeye (Jan 16, 2006 1:52:41 PM)
Nevada, give us your "breakout" OSU players for 2006 -- guys who haven't contributed much yet but make an impact.

sheid (Jan 16, 2006 1:53:16 PM)
Santonio gone, Ginn 2 and Gonzo, Dukes, Hall Then who and will they be players like Gonzo has come through when the going got tuff? Which one do you see rising up?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:53:55 PM)
we almost lost Amos's redshirt earlier in the year. Good thing we didn't as he is going to be a stud. Watch for Person, Skinner and Mitchum to make their move next year.

buckeyeinsaline (Jan 16, 2006 1:54:34 PM)
Some insight on Gant... Saw him play against Saline (Helmuth kid) this past fall. Was dominating and VERY fast cover and running back. He is a diamond in the rough. Can

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:54:39 PM)
Gant, Lake Orchid safety, has a cousin that is projected as a 4 or 5 star DB. Does tressel

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:54:49 PM)
as for breakout players I love Gholston and Barrow off the edge....

labuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:55:26 PM)
Is this A. Dukes year to come out and shine? I heard so much of him last summer but he never seemed to get out on the field.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:55:29 PM)
watch Dukes and Robiskie to step it up big time.....Dukes will remind you alot of Santonio for obvious reasons....lol

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 1:55:59 PM)
Hall in the Slot. This should be his year to breakout.

5starbuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:56:14 PM)
Glad to hear some favorable talk about Barrow .. I thought the kid would be a stud right out of the box ... I am surprised we haven't seen more of him to be honest..

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:56:26 PM)
remember, I said I thought Gant would commit this weekend...I love these bigger, fast guys that can cover

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 1:56:39 PM)
with all those underclassman starting on defense in 06, the 07 team should have one unbelievable defense.. dontcha think

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:57:28 PM)
the experience should help...we will need it as we will be losing TG, Jr, Smith and some pretty darn good linemen......but the beat will go on....lol

Royal Flush47 (Jan 16, 2006 1:57:39 PM)
Looking at the potential of the 2007 recruiting class, could it rival the 2002 class?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 1:58:35 PM)
2002 was an incredible class. acadmically and athletically. 2007 will have to go a long way towards even approaching a comparison. But it looks pretty darn good.

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 1:58:50 PM)
hows the pass rush looking next yr with our guys?? i think the oen thing we missed this yr was a will smith type presence off the edge?? whats the future hold??

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:00:03 PM)
Will Smith was a once in a lifetime player. Best DE EVER at OSU. Probably was held every play his junior and senior year. ...LOL.....Wilson, Barrow and Gholston are going to have to bring it.....that will be a key to next year...

MuskieBuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:00:10 PM)
Shoenhoft and Henton have very different QB styles IMHO. Does Coach tressel have a style preference and how do you see the competition between the two playing out? Seems like as a run/pass QB Henton has an advantage.

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 2:01:17 PM)
HOW IS HENTON only a 3 star, this guy looks like an animal... like a clone of troy smith

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:01:26 PM)
I think JT is liking the production he is getting from Smith(both passing AND running)..I would agree that Henton would be a guy that can give you both threats. But at the end of the day we just need to move the chains. Whoever can do that better will be the guy.

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 2:01:49 PM)
How do you project the Bucks o-line next year? Better, the same, or below this year's o-line? Same question for the d-line since it all starts up front.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:03:31 PM)
the oline will be better next year, without question.....I think any dline that starts with Pitcock is pretty darn good. Will we miss Kudla and Green?? certainly..but we have tons of guys with playing experience...I think the dline will ultimately be better as well.

Nevada's Mistress (Jan 16, 2006 2:03:47 PM)
What are our chances with Troutman?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:04:41 PM)
good to hear from you Mistresss..but I told you never to contact me here....LOL... as for Troutman, I think he ends up at PSU..but we have a shot....he had a great visit....

Mr. February (Jan 16, 2006 2:05:09 PM)
Do we get another RB? either Kylan Robinson or Aram Olson?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:06:16 PM)
We are in it for both. I think Olson ends up at Auburn, and Robinson at Miami. But they both profess a high interest in tOSU..so we will see....

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 2:06:32 PM)
Will Ginn get reps on defense this spring in case that other corner doesn't come from what we have already over there, or what is coming in? And don't you think small is more polished as a receiver than ginn was as a freshman coming in. Holmes that is a step faster as steve would describe him. Lethal combo

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:08:13 PM)
I don't think Ginn plays defense this year. I think we have a number of guys already here..and Coleman who could be a STAR.....as for Ginn/Small comparisons...Teddy just didn't play any WR in high school so he was very raw....

rbuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:08:22 PM)
With Ohio being so strong in talent next year, and a small senior class next year, wouldn't you like to see us "bank" some schollies for all of the talent? How many do you see us taking next year?

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:08:40 PM)
By my count they only have 14, plus Ginn and anybody else who may leave.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:09:39 PM)
I love balance in classes. So I would be happy with 21-22 this year....and 18 or 19 next year(14 plus Ginn, plus three to four attrition)...

Mr. February (Jan 16, 2006 2:09:55 PM)
What happened with McKenzie Matthews? He was in your original 19 and now he appears out of the picture.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:11:02 PM)
I just think that both sides seemed to have cooled on each other. Kindof like that Brad Pitt/Jennifer Anniston thing....

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:11:12 PM)
Ha ha. That cooled in a hurry.

jabu349 (Jan 16, 2006 2:11:22 PM)
what do we project the final ranking of this class to be?? a few weeks ago thsi looked pretty mediocre.. now we all have something to get excited about

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:12:11 PM)
I will stick with Top 5 in the country in terms of QUALITY. We have filled our needs and then some. Be very very happy with the results.

redraider (Jan 16, 2006 2:12:31 PM)
Is the staff still pursuing offensive linemen (Browning excluded)? Is Oglesby OSU bound?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:14:06 PM)
there has been some talk of that OG from Kentucky Peters visiting....we will see....I think Oglesby could be a candidate for an early commitment.......

Nevada's Mistress (Jan 16, 2006 2:14:16 PM)
Nevada I would like to know about you affiliation with Ohio State. Did you grow up in Ohio? Attend Ohio State? etc.... thanks

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:14:32 PM)
As his mistress, you should know the answers to those questions (ha ha).

5starbuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:15:00 PM)
Careful Nevada... possible stalker ... lol

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:15:16 PM)
hunny ..lets talk about that later...LOL....

TerryGordfish1 (Jan 16, 2006 2:16:28 PM)
I've had a gut feeling for awhile that Andre Amos is going to be our next big stud CB. I saw you think he's going to be a stud, too. I'd like to know where you're getting your information from. Coaches? Players? Is he our starting CB opposite of Jenkins in '06? I sure hope so.

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:17:00 PM)
I'll interject for one sec as NB prepares his answer ...

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:17:40 PM)
We are working on updates on McDaniel, Gibson and Robinson, among others. We'll do what we can. Everybody wants to know when those updates will be up. When we talk to them, we'll share what they say.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:17:49 PM)
the buzz on Amos is very very good....everyone I speak to is unanimous in saying that the kid is a player...

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 2:18:10 PM)
Do you see Pitcock having a Kudla type year. Kudla really turned it up this past year, and from all indications, the D is going to be relying on the front 4 to dominate early.

BrunoBuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:18:58 PM)
Pitcock dominated this year. His responsibilities are just different than Kudla's were.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:19:02 PM)
no..I think Pitcock will have an even bigger year. He will be the most dominating player on the defensive line in the country next year. And a first round draft choice.

TheKaiser21 (Jan 16, 2006 2:19:14 PM)
Isn't this about as good as it get this late in the game? A five star LB, Juco Defensive Player of the year, has his AA, college experience, at a position of definite need. I'm surprised that more people aren't aware of this kid. This situation seems to have flown under the radar. Wouldn't this be an absolute steal if it indeed does happen.

Hicks74 (Jan 16, 2006 2:20:41 PM)
Who is Kaiser referring to ?

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:20:49 PM)
JUCO LB Larry Grant.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:21:22 PM)
yes it would...but I have a built in bias against JUCO's..I hate that you only get them for two years at most......but I would be geeked about getting this guy..with us poised for a NC run next year...

edbuck51 (Jan 16, 2006 2:21:30 PM)
Why do you think M.Johnson did not get offers from UCLA and USC?

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:21:58 PM)
These will be the last few questions coming up, we'll look for things that have not been asked or answered.

because they hate defense in the Pac 10

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:22:12 PM)
Ha ha.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:22:28 PM)
I think that it started with grades and then Mark made it pretty clear that he wanted to go out of state---dont read more than that into it...

Nevada's Mistress (Jan 16, 2006 2:22:36 PM)
If Ginn finishes next year with say 60 catches 900 yards and 9 TD's, so you see hime going pro? Some still think he isn't a very polished reciever yet.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:23:01 PM)
Teddy is gone after next year. Enjoy one more season with him.

SteveHelwagen (Jan 16, 2006 2:23:20 PM)
He's already started more games than Terry Glenn did and will have 12-13 more under his belt before the 07 draft.

ysubuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:23:34 PM)
Is this recruiting class all but done? With the exception of Small and Browning coming aboard (officially) I don't really see any surprises before/on signing day. Am I wrong?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:24:00 PM)
staff is still working...they are not done....

bhoying (Jan 16, 2006 2:24:21 PM)
Hi Nevada....assuming we get Gibson, how many true freshman LB's see time next year, and which ones?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:24:58 PM)
tough question...but I like the fact that Homan is already in school...give his BIG edge...

celticbuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:25:04 PM)
Nevada, Do you think they will use Stan white Jr more next year as an H-Back ala Chris Cooley under Joe Gibbs?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:25:56 PM)
I posted earlier in the season that my unsung player was Stan White Jr....he made SO MANY big blocks this year, and is always in the right position. I LOVE this kid.

Two more questions ...

DDC (Jan 16, 2006 2:26:10 PM)
Do you see Robert Rose making an impact next year? He seemed to be very college ready like Chris Wells.

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:26:48 PM)
I think Rose is going to take time. Great body but still raw. I think he redshirts and develops. We will see.

Last question ...

BrunoBuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:26:56 PM)
Who is your all time favorite Buckeye? Why?

nevadabuck (Jan 16, 2006 2:28:13 PM)
My all time favorite Buckeye is Archie Griffin. Not so much for what he did on the field, which was considerable. But for the way he has represented the university since then. He is the best.
