Grant Visit Is On

All that five-star JUCO linebacker Larry Grant needed was the go-ahead from Ohio State concerning his paperwork and then he would visit this weekend as intended. Grant has been cleared, but there has been a bit of a change in plans.

Five-star linebacker Larry Grant of CC of San Francisco originally intended on attending the University of Florida, but things did not work out as he had not taken a particular class required to get in.

Grant then refocused his options on Ohio State and Texas A&M, and he also recently added Oregon to his list. Grant has been waiting this week to hear if his paperwork would be cleared with Ohio State.

"I spoke to Ohio State," he said. "Everything is cleared. I will be there this weekend."

Grant had originally talked about committing to Ohio State if the visit worked out, but it sounds like he will be giving Oregon a look first.

"There is a change though," Grant said. "I am not going to verbal this weekend. I have set up a visit to Oregon. I will make my decision the following Wednesday after I get back from that visit."

Grant (6-2, 225, 4.5) was the California JUCO defensive player of the year. He signed with Murray State out of high school.

"I grew up in California but spent my last three high school years in Georgia," Grant said. "I played OLB and RB in high school. I committed to Murray St. in Kentucky coming out of high school."

Grant plans on enrolling in the spring in whatever college he attends.
